As the title says, I'm in the market for one. I've looked around on Google/etc seeking the best deal...prices seem to be at ~$950ish.

If there's a known sale coming up I can wait.

I recently purchased mine on Amazon and they had a $100 rebate deal going on. It has since ended.

FYI, I notice on Amazon there are two different prices. One with the OE track system and one without. When I purchased mine, the one with the OE track system was cheaper as it is now. I don't have the track system, but it's the same kit as far as I know and it fit my truck with no problems. It does come with what you need if you ever add the OE track system as well. Kind of a win-win.

Why do people want the backflip? The Undercover is so much better and you don't have to lean your sections against your cab. they are both priced the same?? I guess Im missing the hype on the backflip. Id rather have the line-X'd deck.

I am open to some convincing :)

Through my research, the MX4 seems to hit enough of the buckets for things I care about:

Low profile, rugged (minus hail claims but I park in covered spaces most of the time), ease of install/removal, looks good.

When I bought my Bakflip, they seemed pretty equal, but Undercover did not allow the use of the track rail and it's a simple thing, but Bakflip allowed you to open and close the tailgate without opening the cover. Both of which it seems like Undercover allows for now. Not sure if one is better than the other.

EXACTLY!! There are only a few differences.. and the line-x is one for me and then not leaning against my back cab when flipped all the way up is the other.. both are equal in design, function, cost, mounting, rubber seals (UC comes with 2 drain tubes) and the latter... my money is on UC. tomato/tomatoe

I am currently shopping around for a tonneau and the Bakflip MX4 is very popular, I am definitely open to other options. Checking out the undercover now, seems to be at a cheaper price. Armor flex, ultra flex, or flex? Thanks!

I'd go with YOUR needs. At the end of the day, they are basically the same. I have the Armor Flex....I have gear and guns that sit on the top of the cover and I never have to worry about denting or scuffing or anything. My pelican cases DO slide...but that's just plastic. I needed the armor cover and I didn't want it to rest on the cab while driving.

Line-X sells the MX-4 with some slight changes under their "Truck Gear" line. At the risk of further complicating your decision making this might be something to look at. The warranty is better, you can go though any Line-X location for support, and they offer coating. Price is not that far off either.

the slightly pricier backflip is better imo because you can fold it up to use 100% of your bed space, with the already short bed it will definitely come in handy. Time to find which website will discount it the most...

*edit* the lady told me you couldnt use 100% of the bed but upon reading it you could... probably will go with the cheaper undercover

My MX4 came with two drain tubes. :notsure:

As for leaning, I've only done it once since bought new, but didn't run into any problems. Don't see the big deal plus it can be removed with two thumbscrews.
