I have read the blog posts, website comments and FB stuff - cant find promised HP gains. I also see too many people waiting for tweaks, updates, troubleshooting... as with many things brand new, I may sit this one out a bit longer until the bumps are smoothed out.

Might be a good idea. The motor portion of the tune is fantastic. The rest is in development. Either way you go, you'll still end up patiently waiting.

@OVTune If I install long tube headers, will you need to make adjustments to the tune?? I have heard some tunes cause a lean condition with long tube headers

Take your time. We will be around :). The first post of this thread has our dyno results vs a truck previously tuned by another tuner often mentioned in this thread.

We cannot promise any exact HP gain. Any tuner that promises you get X amount of HP with their tune...you should walk away from. We usually say you can expect to see around 10-15HP gain on a stock truck, and with our gearlocking, you can see on the first post the torque potential vs non gearlock is ...massive.

Yes you will need your tune adjusted

Yes, if it is a ECU we have finished up

How do we know our ECU ID number? I have been digging through my messages through Zendesk and I do not see an ECU ID number mentioned in my data from Zendesk.

    May also be called calibration

@OVTune #5221 When we get our base tune, or updated tune. Is there a reason why you do not include in the email the features that are included in the tune, AND how to use that feature??? Like what button does what! Half of this forum is clogged up with people wondering what they have and how to use it. I got my base tune in December, but have NO idea whats included in it whats supposed to work and whats not or how to use it. I have emailed you several times, and used this forum several times to ask and have gotten no answer. I dont understand why you dont list in the tune email the features your tune includes from the list of available features for all users benefits.

Placing my deposit this week for the Magnuson. I guess they dumped Bully Dog recently and now utilize HP Tuners. You guys have much more experience than I do regarding tuning - will this complicate things for me when I attempt to switch to OV Tune later on?

if you want us to tune it, purchase the version / kit from them that doesn't include any tuning option, otherwise you will be paying for a HP Tuners cable that you won't use.

FWIW, I have been driving on my second tune for about 2 weeks and the improvement over BD is huge. The truck feels great. Can't imagine how good it will be after then next revision.

wanted to let you guys know we are still working on updates and ECU patches.

We recently found out that on some trucks there is a second byte activation (in memory) when you use S mode and tow haul combined, this may cause gearlock to disable with Tow / haul activated (with our S-Mode patch).
It's an easy fix we are working on right now.

Also I am super disappointed The 2021 Tundra is the same old 5.7L. The new gen Tundra is delayed.

With the delay, maybe that will give you all a little bit of a head start on your tunes for that model year...? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Still getting the same MPG with the base tune as I normally get, 16½-17 MPG. Will be pulling my boat (4500#) about 300 miles to the gulf coast tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how it does with the load. Don't have the enhancements to the tranny yet, except for the gearlock.
