    Hey All,

I hope this inst a silly question, but I am trying to get my ducks in a row before my new suspension shows up. For those who did self install on their SPC UCA does the direction give you any idea how to set the ball joint initially, before you drive for alignment? if not what did you guys use as a base setting? I don't know much about how they work other then some videos online. I am no mechanic but will be tackling the full suspension myself. Just trying to work out all the little details ahead of time.. My full setup will be Toytech Performance Aluma Kit with Shackles in the back and SPC UCA..

Thanks for any tips, tricks and advice in advance.

Thank you, that certainly helps explain how to adjust it an how it works. What degree of caster have guys been using and having luck with? Granted I realize this is probably different for everyone to some degree.. Just need to make sure I make the drive to the alignment shop.

I think the "B" setting is where I started when installing them on my Tacoma. The alignment sheet above will get you going. You will want a little positive caster btw, but installing them at 0 is a good place to start if you cant figure it out.

Once you're put back together and still on a jack or lift you will be able to loosen the ball-joint nut on the UCA and adjust the tires camber by sliding the ball joint in or out. Eye-ball it, tighten the ball-joint nut down and head to the alignment shop!

Here are some decent numbers from someone on this forum...not mine

    toe: 0.07 - 0.06
    camber: 0.1 - 0.1
    caster: 2.7 - 3.2

Caster you want a degree off for road crowning, helps you track straight down the road.

Thanks! I appreciate the info. I know when I replace the LCA on my old Tacoma it was pretty sketch getting to the shop as i really didn't have much of a clue on the camber bolt adjustments even trying to attempt to match where they were (an failed miserably) .. I have probably a 20-25 or so mile drive to get to where I need to be this time around. I believe i may have to loosen the LCA to get my coilovers in I sure hope it doesn't totally screw with things.
