I've had my 2020 CrewMax for about 3 months now and having an issue with the rear window sliding down on its own when parked.
This is the 3rd time it has happened.
First time it was cracked just enough to hear some road noise and I couldn't figure out what it was, turns out the rear window was opened.
Second time was during a small snow storm, I get off work and notice the rear window is all the way open! and snow was piled up on my back seat.
Third time just happened today, it was raining a bit, I get in my truck and its halfway down and the top of the rear seats are soaked.
I don't know how this is happening and I'm not able to replicate it so I feel like if I bring it to the dealer they will say nothing is wrong.
Not really sure what to do, could it be the wetness/water thats somehow triggering it to open?
Couldn't really find anything on this in the forum, so if anyone else had this issue please help me out?
    Thanks.

Is there a certain way to open windows by the key fob? Like press and hold or something that you are doing accidentally when you put it in your pocket. Maybe that’s it. If not it’s got a warranty, let the dealer know and fix it if the motor itself is malfunctioning.

My wife’s car has the window roll down by pushed and holding key fob. I never knew and accidentally did it one day and thought someone broke in to the car at first.

Here is something from 2014 about it. Couldn’t find anything else in my quick search.

Thanks for the quick reply, but no, windows don't seem to roll down when I push and hold the key fob.
Plus I put my keys right into the cup holder in my work truck, and would think I'd notice if the window were down before I left.
And I also have the Toyota app, which sends me notifications if I were to leave the door/hood opened or unlocked, but not sure if it works if the windows are left down, I'd have to test that out.

Welcome to the forum! Gonna have to say user error on this one. There is something you are doing to cause this. Wish I could be of more help but for now, you just need to visually check the back window every time you get out of the truck and if you find it down, stop and think what you did. Good luck!

Idk it's pretty hard to accidentally roll down the rear window. The only way to do it is press the button that is already in a rather hard to reach place to begin with. The only way to roll down windows without pressing the button is to put the key in the driver's door and hold it in unlock but since he has a 2020 that's not even an option. Check and see if it happens to go down when you go over bumps, test it with a speed bump or something, maybe the mechanism needs to be replaced, obviously would be covered under warranty. .

Could you be bumping the button with your knee exiting the truck? Usually with the keyless fobs, the vechicle is in accessory mode after you turn the truck off until you open the door.

I agree with this as well. I have accidentally bumped the switch when adjusting the seat and getting in after my wife has drove the truck.

Doesn't happen on bumps... just somehow goes down when I'm away from the truck. No buttons pressed or anything. I have keyless entry as well.

I have thought that, but even if I did I would think I'd hear it or feel the cold air come in. Plus, its not an auto down so I would have to literally be holding it down for the window to roll completely down.

Do you have security cameras at home that you could go back and watch when in happens?

That's a solid idea. If it's happened at work and they have cameras, then that is another option to check. I'm intrigued by this issue, but I don't know of anyone else having it.

I don't know how the world you could hit the switch with your knee. I've found no way to roll down windows with fob or the remote app. First problem is replicating it.

Did you take pics each time it happened so you would have something to show the dealer?

My 2020 did this the other day. It had been raining in the night and when I got in it that morning water ran inside off the roof when I backed up. My 17 never once did this nor did I ever bump the button with my knee.

Does the app that the 2020s have include an option for rolling down windows? Seems the only report of it happening is on 2020, so it’s something with some change made to those.

Also I'll add, totally off Tundra topic, that one day last week I came home for lunch and when leaving I came out to an unlocked car with all windows down. This is on a 16 Ford Fusion company car. Unless I was pressing buttons in my pocket while in the house how can the windows roll down without a key in the ignition?

My wife’s car is a Ford Fusion. That’s the car I mentioned earlier. Same thing happened to me. Button was held down in my pocket.

Do you mean like a phone app? Because I don't have that. My window was about 1/4 open but not all the way down like OP. Hard to tell for me when mine went down because it was up when I got home but down in the morning, spitting rain over night and when I reversed the water form the roof came in so I don't know if it had been down all night or soon before I got into the truck. Seats weren't soaked just the water that ran in I assume, because it was only spitting rain not really raining hard all night that I would have been able to tell judging by the wetness of the seats and carpet that it was down all night as though I bumped it with my knee.

Only happened while I was parked in the yard at work, and no cameras there.

I thought about that but didn't.

I am using the Toyota app which lets me remote start the truck/unlock/lock it from anywhere. There is no option in there for the windows. After thinking about it, it happened each time when I used the app to start it while on my way back to the yard. I'm thinking maybe somehow its glitching and sending a signal to also open the rear window.
Now the next problem is, if that is true, can I replicate it or is it random?

    iPhone or Android?
I got a droid, I've been using remote start via the app for a while now and have had no issues.

If the app is kicking off the rear window that would mean they do have some capablity to roll down all the windows from the remote. They just haven't enabled it in the app or the keyfob.

I’d go with the camera idea, if you’re really diligent hook one up from inside the vehicle pointing at the window.

Somehow someway your windows are getting a signal to roll down. If your car is truly “off”, I don’t see how that can happen except if it’s a mechanical issue with gravity in play.

If it’s electrical, somehow your ignition circuit is going into “accessory” mode to allow and roll the windows down.

I have a lowly 2019 SR, so no issues with my rear window rolling down!

I have an iPhone. I use the app a bunch and have no issues. I'm thinking it could possibly be the app but can't confirm yet. And it doesn't happen each time because I use the app plenty, but its the only think I can think of.

I don't have the app and mine rolled down about 1/4 but not all the way. I can't remember if I remote started it with the fob that morning but I have other times and the window didn't go down any.

There was another post on the forum about a member's truck having issues with unlocking/locking with the new smart handles, and it wound up being caused by the LED bulbs that had been put into the 3rd brake light causing interference. I know that some trucks/models had/have options that would let you unroll all the windows with the key in the door lock, so maybe in some convoluted way it's an interference issue with the unlock signal that the truck is getting. OP, have you made any changes to the truck, or is it completely untouched?

I really don't know, and I'm just spitballing here.

Maybe there’s some hidden setting in the app to allow rolling down the window 1/4 way to let the heat out when you remote start and want the ac on that is accidentally getting activated. But that seems like a bad idea in case its raining or something. Maybe thats why it’s hidden if that is the case.
