I have the wires run and the actuator installed and hooked up. I am getting conflicting opinions on which wires to splice into at the kick panel. There is the pop and lock green and blue wires but not sure which harness to connect to and which wires at the kick panel. Can anyone help?

In the pop and lock instructions it says to connect the blue P&L wire to the red wire of the blue 18 pin MJ1 connector. It says the green wire should be connected to the white with silver dash wire is the blue 18 pin MJ1 connector. I have read that others have said blue goes to white with silver dash and green goes to orange with silver dash wire. Before I go splicing into the harness I would love to know if anyone has a 2019 tundra crewmax with pop and lock 8535
Installed and can let me know what the actual wiring configuration is???? Also pics would be awesome if available. Thank you very much in advance for anyone who can advise.

you should buy this harness from KTJO 4x4. She makes the entire kit, and I believe she also sells just the parts that you need as well. Check out her thread, 3rd gen Plug n Play Power Tailgate Lock...

this is a photo a fellow member (AZTundra) posted on another thread, if you don't have the harness or don't have the time to get one right now. Hopefully this will help you!

Let me know if any of that helps or worked for you. I know how it feels. I was getting frustrated with my install until some fellow members helped me out!

You might check out this youTube video. I installed a Pop-n-Lock on a 2017, and the blue and white wires were correct but could be reversed. I cannot verify that this video is correct, but the red/orange descriptions seem to confirm that Toyota has changed the wire colors for the door locks yet again. The wires used appear to be in the same cavities in the blue connector.

I would buy it if I didn’t already have everything ready - not really a patient person. And, I don’t want to spend another $45 for the harness. I probably should have just bought the ktjo kit in the first place to save time and money.

For anyone interested, 2019 Sr5 crewmax I can confirm:

Green pop and lock wire to red with silver dash Toyota harness wire
Blue pop and lock wire to white with silver dash Toyota harness wire

Works like a charm and Yes it is loud but doesn’t bother me at all.

Unfortunately I was rushed to get ready to go to the capitals / penguins game so I just buttoned it up and left. It will take me 30 seconds to pull the panel though. I will take it off and snap a picture when I get a chance though. Also, do NOT go through the engine firewall. There is a drain plug on passenger floorboard that comes right up in the area needed to tap into harness. Pulled the plug, made a quick snip, pulled wire through and replaced the plug. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

posting from the caps game - that’s dedication!!!! Hahaha
