So that hideous shifter looks like a bedroom toy....but it is a perfect hand rest when your on the armrest...just curios if the overpriced upgrade feels any different? Does your palm sit just as nice? Looks lower in the pics...

TRD shifter looks and feels much better. You can get it in black or silver with red stiching. Totally worth it ;)

20190409_172417.jpg I got the TRD shifter. Love it and it looks a lot better.

I have the all black TRD shift knob as well and usually use it as a hand rest. Looks good, is just as comfortable as the old one and it sits at the same height.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
I did the TRD Pro shifter...from a Tacoma.
    Better feel/ergonomics IMO.

Another vote for the Tacoma TRD Pro shift knob.

I see you would have to add a boot to make it work on the Tundra.

    Thanks

Bought of these and a cheap pleather boot

it fits in your hand beautifully and the height is very comfortable when resting your elbow on the center console lid

Agreed. Switched out the sr5 one for trd black one when i had my 17 sr5. When i traded it in i put the old one back on. Forgot how bulky it was compared to the trd shifter.

TRD shifter is for small feminine hands while the stocker is for manly hands. To say one is better than the other is subjective.
Try them both and see which one you like. Many TRD shifters have been sold in the Marketplace.:bananadead:

I used the 5D from Amazon, on the shifter and most of the interior trim.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0150KLEPO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also used Sott on the center surround. I've considered redoing it with the forged carbon vinyl.
For a true carbon fiber, the 5D IMO, is the most realistic compared to any other carbon vinyl.

I used this one from AJT Designs. There are color options. It’s pricey but I like it and it feels good in my hand.C762A2B9-F5CF-4563-BCF4-60E15C78301F.jpg
