I recently picked up a 2020 SR5 tundra crew max and am wondering what grade gas i should put in this truck. Here in utah where im at i mostly see 85,88, and 91. Ive heard many times 85 is a no go but havent seen much on the 88 or 91. Any advice from y'all on what i should run in my truck? Thanks. Also sorry if this has already been talked about alot, new here.

Where I’m at majority of the time I can’t get 87 grade gas, so would sticking with 88 be the best option?

87 unless you are supercharged than you must run 91

87 unless you are DAPtized and want maximum performance.

At higher elevations, the 85 acts in the same manner as 87 octane at elevations closer to sea level, and is equivalent to 87 octane. Since the air is thinner at elevation, the flame path in the combustion chamber travels slower. This slowing of the flame path is the same thing that a higher octane accomplishes. So there is no need for 87 octane at high elevation. This is why, in areas of NM, CO UT, and other high elevation areas, the usual lowest octane rating is lower than the 87 found at lower elevations. This only applies to normally aspirated engines. Forced air induction negates the effects of high elevation. At these high elevation areas, you won't likely find any higher octane than 91, equivalent to 93 at lower elevations.

Cheapest one available at the Co-Op pump for me ....it's 87.

Mid is 89 here and premium is 91. I have never used any of those.

It is for a guideline and running close to sea level. Where we are that is not necessary.
