When I set the climate control to Auto the Mode is set to floor vents. How do I change this?

There is a middle knob called mode. Turn it.

Probably. I never really paid attention to it much. It's mostly always floor mode when in auto but I still get heat up in the middle vents.

It does. I have changed the mode to other vents, turned the system off and then selected Auto and it goes back to floor vent Mode.

Heat (assuming it's cold where you are) is supposed to come out of the floor vents. Sounds like it's doing what it's told.

    Tastefully enhanced...
Heat rising is the logic behind the floor vents being the "default." At least when heat is wanted more then cooler air...

On my Limited when it’s cold outside, the auto function starts directed to the windshield and floor and then automatically redirects to just the floor after awhile. I don’t know how or when it makes the switch tho. Even on floor though, I’m pretty sure that the vents next to the front DS and PS windows are pushing out air. I also wonder if the vents going to the rear seat don’t get air until it’s switched to floor but I wonder about that now. I’ll check it out next time I drive it... never thought about it before but there’s got to be something to it all.

It will always default back to floor mode when turned off.
