Injury occurred on Jan 10, 2020
Surgery to repair the nerve was on Jan 16, 2020.

Was cutting a large board on the table saw at home. The larger piece I needed was to the left of the blade. It started to fall off the table and I reached for it with my left hand. I then braced myself with my right hand.........right into the blade

I am lucky that I didn’t cut off fingers and that I didn’t cut a tendon. I did however cut the nerve to my index finger. Had hand surgery on Jan 16. to attach the nerve to my index finger. Got the stitches out and a new brace for another month. Index finger is numb on the entire outside half and is very stiff. Can’t use it for 6 weeks post surgery.

Man that sucks. Speedy recovery. I don't recall the name of the device but it's a safety that stops the blade immediately if you contact it. The inventor demonstrates it by putting his own hand to the full speed table saw blade. I'll try to find the YouTube video later.

I think your talking about the sawstop table saw. They're very nice but cost $3-4k.

This is literally my worst nightmare. Anytime I work w any bladed power tool I fear my hand getting somewhere into the blade. The feeling of dread is enough to make me take that extra second to make sure I am being safe. I can’t imagine that feeling being real. Again so sorry op
