Installed the Toyota QI charger in the armrest a week ago and finally took a long drive and figured I would let you guys know my thoughts. First I love the location and not having to have a cord for charging. Fit and finish is nice, no issues there. Charges thru my otter box commuter case with out issue. The thing that really annoys me is the two lighted strips in the tray! I mean the power on/ off button is lit and changes color so why have those two led strips? Plus at night with out a phone charging it is bright green! Yes, I could just turn the power off but most cars with QI chargers don’t have any lights at all. Plus if you have a phone on the pad it blocks those lights anyways, so why put them there? My second con is I have an iPhone 8 and probably it is just my case but it slide far enough in the tray that it stopped charging a few times and I had to recenter it a few times. All in all I like it and maybe I will figure a way to kill the strips and stop my phone from sliding around and be 100% satisfied. Hope this helps anyone who is interested in getting this.

Mine should be arriving today, for the sliding deal I had thought about placing some rubber bump stops. You can find them at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc. and could help with that part of it. I read somewhere else that the power is on at the start of the vehicle? If you turn it off will it be that way the next time or revert back to on?

I have only left it on but I will check and get back to you on if it reverts back on start up. Thanks for the tip on the rubber bump stops, will check it out!

They have different sizes so you are able to pick which will fit best. They have adhesive so it helps with keeping them in place. Also, I was thinking of moving the warning label to the inside of the charger instead of the front portion of it, or removing it altogether but not sure it would be wise to I guess.

I plan to install this tomorrow. I love but also hate this site. I have an IPhone Pro 11 Max in a UB pro case. (Slimmer otter box knock off).
I went to a Toyota dealer and tested the phone figment before purchase

I removed the sticker and just told my wife what the red light mean. Oh and I wish they included a new piece of double sided tape for the trim level piece! I mean dropping over $150 and not getting a new trim level piece or strip of tape is kind of lame!

Ya the cord was a pain and then it was flopping around. Trying to keep it looking clean and kind of stock. Another cheap solution I found on Amazon was a center console tray that had a QI charger build in. Personally I decided against it cause I didn’t want to open the console all the time to charge my phone

This looks like a great way to launch your phone into the back seat if you forget it's there and open the console cover for any reason.

    Working on it!
I installed one in my new PRO this past weekend. Not overly complicated - the best Utube video to watch is GearRunner's (does a good job of explaining and video work), the other two most popular either (1) skipped half of the narration or (2) F'ed up the install by stripping out two screw holes that held the "bottom" of the lid (resulting in using larger, ugly screws).

The unit looks good - it amazes me that Toyota doesn't offer this as an accessory on their dot.com build site.

I stripped one screw hole but found a decent screw to place in there, not to shabby over all! It grips my phone pretty well, my phone case probably helps.

My 6 year old installed mine, he didn't strip any holes or screw heads. Took him a couple hours to get through it all and I helped him with the zip ties for the power wire through the hinge. It works flawlessly and have had no issues at all. Highly recommend it.

Single pass with a Black sharpie over the LED lights. Looks clean and kills majority of the glow.

Just installed mine. Very straight forward and easy install (I also used the youtube install video by GearRunner). Looks good, works good. Defaults to "on" upon engine start (and lights up with green lights- a simple button push turns it off and extinguishes the lights). The "wireless arcs" are raised silicone and grip the back of the phone so it doesn't slide around.

I usually plug in for Apple CarPlay, so it's more for the convenience of my passenger. Overall, I like it and the fact it's OEM.

It's a standard suction cup base that I attached right below the 4wd selector knob. If that makes sense.

Is it pretty stable? No adhesive needed?
