I had a Retrax on my 2005, it rattled like crazy on the highway with the big rear window down.
I hear they don't rattle as much anymore..
    It was fairly watertight.

I currently have an Undercover Flex on my 2014, had it replaced under warranty.
It certainly is not waterproof, it leaks a tad around the edges in a hard storm, but the new one leaks less than the old one.
Old one started leaking thru the seams in the panels.

Old one before they replaced it.

If Undercover would not have warranted the old Flex, I was ready to buy a Diamondback for $1600.
I'd go with the Diamondback if the rugged look fits to looks of your truck.

Yes, usually. But that would be a good idea except that I also just want to keep the clubs in there permanently.

How expensive are the clubs? The diamond back is the only one that would probably deter all theives. Any others cover can be broken into with the right force or big enough pry bar

Yeah that’s a great point. My buddy that has a 2012 tundra has one of those. The only thing he said he doesn’t like about it is that with a lift, it makes it harder for him to get to things that are up by the cab because of the way that the front half of it opens up, or something to that effect. But it definitely seems very sturdy and I’ve stood on the back of it. Do you think that it ever gets in the way as far as if you have to load up a bunch of boxes orFurniture to help somebody move, because you have that front half in the way? Or is it reasonably quick for two people to takeoff if you had a situation like that?

Ive had 2 different kinds of folding covers. Ive gone back and forth on a rollup. If you ever need a full truck bed i can see the diamond back being very intrusive. They have to be very very heavy

For the DiamondBack It's really easy to pull off the three panels by yourself. The too main ones are easy and don't need tools. For the little middle panel it's less than 10min to pull it off and just need a socket or wrench. You don't need help.

I currently leave my clubs in the bed full time and got new ones last year with custom shafts etc so they weren't cheap. More than double the cost of the DB HD cover that's for sure.

All this said is b/c I don't need to use my full bed all the time so it works well for me and keeping my clubs from getting stolen.

Not so- the two big panels weigh about 45 lbs each tops. Removing them is easy- flip two small bales that hold the shocks in place, then open the panel to 90 deg, slide sideways and lift. The panel is off. Then, loosen clamps on each side with a wrench and the center comes off quickly.

Diamondback without question. And perhaps a crossbin for shoes and clubs. Bakflip and Extang are overpriced junk in my book, based on first- hand experience.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but can you believe what the dealership charged for the trifold cover? I told them to add it as a dealer option when I was buying the truck in December or so. I thought I'd read that the price was $700. But after the install, it came to over $1200!!! I'm suppposed to get a refund on it today when they take it off. So I DB would just be a straight swap, cashwise...

I got this one from Amazon. Very high quality and absolutely no leaks in my bed! I like how it rolls into the canister and it only takes up about 10" of the bed in the front. It isn't tall so gear and whatever can be put under the canister. I can lock it in any position and rolls very easy into the canister. The only thing that they could improve on is that each side lock has a different key. No big deal, just an extra key.
Same as a Retrax but at 1/2 the cost.

    Check out Mike’s @mgm16trdpro
build page. He has a Diamondback HD with the pull out deck system. He sold me his Diamondback cross bin a few years ago, which I love. I have the 8 inch I think, and I think my clubs would fit in it to keep them off the bed. The 13 inch may be even better for your use.

$1.2k?! What a joke. That trifold is junk. You'll love the DB.
I also leave the rain cover on the top of my golf bag which keeps them from falling out of the bag

Interested in this as well as I plan on keeping my clubs in the truck a majority of the time. I was leaving toward the Truxedo metal roll up with the cloth top but I do like the look and security of these.

I have a roll n lock. Works pretty well imo. Will drip slightly at the corners near the tailgate if parked nose high. I have indoor outdoor carpet on my bed floor to keep the bedliner from scratching softer items and only the comers of the carpet get moisture and it doesn’t run anywhere else. I keep a uniform jacket in my bed full time and it’s never gotten wet.
