I had Icon 2.5’s front and rear. Went on 1 trip with the BASTRD’s and knew I had to upgrade..
I now have the 3.0’s and 2.5 secondary in the front. RXT leafs and Omega shocks with the hydro bumps.
    It’s a world of difference.
I feel a lot more comfortable following the LT guys around. Not as fast. But just more confident at speeds.

We are 95% confirmed on our route and dates. Looking like we will hit the road early May 6th and get to San Diego late on May 7th (with a short detour to visit @sdhq_offroad), We will depart San Diego on Monday May 11th for Las Vegas, then on to Utah, Zion, Horseshoe Bend, Four Points, Amarillo and home. We decided yesterday that we will be driving with the camper, so I get to schedule the re-gearing of my truck. Looking like we will stay at Lake Jennings in Lakeside.

Well Andy’s a nut. He’s got no fear. He pretty much hit that section as fast as the LT guys. Except for Roy. Roy took that section at like 300mph.

Maybe it's inexperience. But I've seen what @joonbug could do with his truck first hand with similar suspension and ask myself why can't i do that too?

lol The suspension was new to me and i wanted to test it out and fine tune it (adjust the clickers).

If you really want to know what to get and what you need... Go on a run with the BASTRD's and SGU folks.. You'll learn real quick what you need.. lol

By the the third trip i had re-geared, 37's and Lockers. I've reduced a lot of weight since my first trip..

I do enjoy the technical stuff. I like to go fast.. so i build my truck accordingly.

We should have another Cleghorn run...
@Sunnier. That's where it all started for me... $$$$$$$$$

Yeah I'd like to do a run with ya'll but obviously the rig is stock right now.

What gear ratio did you go with, and you have a pic of your LCA's??? Thanks

Well, if we meet at Cleghorn, that’s good for everything from stock to fully built. Lots of side obstacles to test, but the main route is 2wd stock friendly.

    Feb 8th weekend?
I went with 4.88 ratio. LCA are stock. With the secondary shocks Icon has a hoop kit with a mounting bracket you can weld onto the LCA. LSK also makes a LCA with this mount for the secondary shocks.
4.88 ratio I feel for me was the best option.

Haven't been to Cleghorn since I was on 37s and mid-travel; did all the obstacles fine. I wonder how much easier than easy it'll all be with 40s and long-travel.

Thanks. Wanted to know about the LCA to see if I can start with just 3.0’s with UCA’s and add the secondary shock later and it sounds like I can. I’d image 4.88 gears would be enough for this truck.

    This...
I also have 37's and feel the 4.88's are just right.. Longer drives
Others would disagree and say 5.29. Just my experience.

I'm down for a day run back to Cleghorn..

Nice. You might find me lingering around Hammertown for a bit but other than watching the race I'm probably going to be tooling around at Cougar Buttes on the rocks..
