Yup that's a toyota remote start thing, drives me nuts. What's the point of starting my truck just to open the door and have to restart it. Never tried if but wonder if using the actual key to unlock would keep it going. I get it, like u said, it's a safety/theft thing, but there's gotta be a better way, besides just buying an aftermarket remote start. My truck ed van being a 16 had a factory remote start, I just can't justify buying another remote start to appease my feelings of hating that it shuts off when the doors unlock from the key fob remote.

I guess the o ly positive to take from it is least I get to hear my new exhaust growl twice from in and out cab. Lol

I think the idea is just to have the truck warmed up and ready. Both the engine and the cab. At least that's the advantage I take away.

Wasn't trying to be a smartass, hope it didn't come across that way. But the BODYGUARD logo was the first thing I saw in the pic. Hot looking bumper, but not my style.

Yeah I get it, but opening the door just to have to restart again is pretty annoying.

BOOM is right buddy, nice one. After 15 years of driving Black trucks, I finally switched to White. Love the Black, but it shows every nick. Road-rash is hell on a Black truck. Either way, it's Black or White for me.

I hear ya. My last two were black and they looked great when clean. I have a cement one now and every time I look at it I think it could use a wash, but doesn’t need it. Seems like I washed the black ones more than I drove them.

Keeping my Black trucks clean wasn't the problem, it was the road-rash from debris/stones chipping the paint. Looked to me like Toyota used white primer under that black paint.

Please tell me they didn't use black primer under my new White paint!

I wish when you unlocked door she would stay running. Seems logical. Probably correct on the 2021 model. Still a very nice feature.

It's a security feature. That way if your vehicle is sitting there running and some Jack Wagon tries to steal your baby, boom it turns off when they open the door. Pretty good idea if you ask me.

I like nine better. Runs until key is entered. Turns off if key isnt entered and brake is applied to put in gear. Best of both worlds as it keeps running amd locks the doors.

    Hi all!

Guess who's a brand new 2020 Army Green Tundra TRD Pro owner!? Me! That's who!

Couldn't be happier so far! Definitely established a bond with it when I had to fly out to Michigan to pick up and drive it back to San Diego, CA in 2.5 days.

Here's a few pics of her from the dealer and how she looks now, less than a week later.
