    Thanks! I actually got all the parts off eBay. These links don't work for some reason, but I got them from my history.

    knob: JDM TRD Racing Manual Duracon Shift Knob For Toyota FRS AE86 Supra MR2 tC Black $17.52
    the knob felt small at first, but I've gotten use to it I liked the way it looked and decided to go with it. The TRD logo on the top was never on very solid. It's actually come off now, but can be glued back on.

    boot:
    TRD Racing shift knob Shifter Boot Cover MT/AT PVC Leather Fit For All TOYOTA $9.50
    leather can be stiff and make a small cracking noise when it is really cold out.

    overall it was cheap, looks nice, and no more glare!

    I wouldn't say that I'm 'dissatisfied' but - due to my OCD - I am slightly disappointed in the discoloration that I was unaware of in the AJT product. The picture referenced below looks flawless but, looking back, I am seeing the same 'defect' in most of their products.
    I am emailing Adam at AJT Design with my thoughts but figured I'd share with those who are viewing this thread as well.

    Perfect product example: (look close enough and you can see a light brushed effect)

    I was too impatient to wait for a response from AJT so I set my media blast cabinet at a low pressure and dealt with the discoloration myself.

    Anyone else having issues with AJT products? I ordered the cement gray for my platinum.

    just started with vent covers but plan to do the rest over next week or so.

    just would hate to invest more if people aren’t happy with it.

    I ordered everything in voodoo blue, vent rings, key fob, and cup holder shifter rings. Color doesn't even come close to the voodoo blue. They also have spots like stated above where they look discolored

    I've heard a lot of people have been having the sake issue. I ended up sand blasting them then oiling them and it turned out great.

    Honestly, I just used olive oil based on a quick recommendation online. Supposedly it returns the natural oils in the plastic that would have been removed by the blasting process.
    If I do refinish them I would probably use a plastic restoring agent. I just ordered this to try on my dash bezel:

    Left side was quickly blasted and right side was bypassed for comparison purposes:

    This is the difference between blasted and rubbed with oil. As you may be able to see in the picture, I'll need to blasting it a bit more to get rid of all of the silver coating:

    I was just going to throw the information into th the Black OEM Interior Trim thread but I guess it wouldn't be 'OEM' at that point.

    That sucks that some of you are have discoloration and spots on your pieces- I’d be pissed. I must have got lucky on mine and didn’t notice any of the issues you guys describe when I installed them other day. I just checked again to make sure. I did notice that any little bit of oil from your fingers etc makes spots on them pretty easy and I thought I had a few spots until I wiped them- still much better than the dirty and shiny chrome.     Looks they’ll hopefully make good on the issues- they have some products that are really nice, however, they should probably do a little more quality control before sending them out.

    So, finally heard back from AJT, they're sending me new vent rings, shifter and cup holder rings in black with blue hardware. Told me to keep the voodoo blue stuff.

    Tried the paint method first but it started to chip over time.

    Filled in the recessed areas of the bezel with acrylic, sanded, then vinyl wrapped it.
    This is a fairly simple wrap project & holds up well through the heat of summer and everything being chucked in the drink wells.

    This DIY KIT below has the Acrylic & enough 3M 2080 Series Vinyl to do the drink bezel plus the shifter trim.
    I just need to edit the tutorial for it.
