6in Rough Country suspension lift, XD wheels, FS Destination MT 35x12.5x20. Backlift hard tonneau cover w/tool box upgrade. 2 fold out wheel well tool boxes/coolers. 50%windshield tint, 15% tint all other. Upgraded speakers throughout.
After 6 in Rough Country suspension lift in stalled I've had the driver side CV axel has broken twice. Seems if the front tires ever spin over it breaks the left axel. Has anyone ever experienced this or does anyone have a possible solution to this. It's the 6 in Rough Country lift with the upgraded shocks and struts on front.

Also should I look at re-gearing the drive line being I went with 35 in tires, and if so what ratios would you suggest?

    Thanks for any help here.

Did you do a diff drop? Angle is probably too high. Do you have pictures?

2014 here bought used in 2016 with 26,000, sitting at 84,000, zero issues, 6" RC lift with 35*12.50*20 tires 20*9 wheels +20 done by dealer, are you engaging 4wd on dry pavement? Heard this can put axles in a bind and as for re-gearing, I've read on here if your tires are 37s on up to re gear

Post pics, but a 6" shouldn't need a diff drop. Theyre usually done with a chop to the frame that allows the angles to be similar or the same as OEM. I suspect something is a little different that the usual though.

Also, some drop bracket lifts only drop the diff down 4 inches. So if you’re pushing 6 maybe more inches of lift out of that, we could be talking about some extreme angles

Holy shit dude. Those angles are horrendous.

How many inches is the LCA drop bracket?

It looks like a 4 inch lift with another 3.5 inches of lift from the springs.

Take a picture of your front shock

He driver side looks considerably higher than the passenger side. Thats the one breaking correct? What is likely happening is the tire is dropping into a rut of soft mud, thus the spinning, then when it hits solid bottom and catches traction the angle is just jacked and snaps

I believe those shocks are meant for their 6 inch kit. Is there any spacer plate on top of them as well?

Yes it is a 6 in lift with the upgraded struts and shocks. No plate on top.

Ohh ok. That shouldnt be too extreme then. Maybe, just maybe the first time was a fluke, was the second break an oem cv or aftermarket?

How are they breaking? Boot tearing, axle fracturing, CV joints detaching?

CV joints keep twisting out. It's like if the front tire ever spins over it snaps the joint.

Is that stock upper control arms on such a large lift?

Here is what i would measure. How far down is the diff dropped. Measure mounting point compared to stock (not sure if either mount still exist tho with cutting)

I can’t chime in on the axle issue

Generally speaking, with a lift you need aftermarket adjustable upper control arms or uniball upper control arms to keep from having extreme tire wear

Lifting your vehicle messes with the alignment geometry and keeps you from getting an optimal suspension alignment

That in turn causes extreme alignment angles and can lead to severe uneven tire wear if sticking with a stock non adjustable upper control arm

The uca wont affect this issue tho. If anything the stock uca has less downtravel and can help the cv not get over extended.
    Uca are for alignment

Those CV angles look WAY too steep. that drop bracket wasnt meant for a 4" lift was it?

What struts are those? I ordered the RC ones a while back and have yet to put on cause they look poorly made, they eliminate the spacer up top, also I have stock UCA's and I never had the issues your going through, I'm mainly pavement, but once in a while I'm in mud, but more sand as I'm close to the Texas coast, my CV axles angles are the same as yours, and I have the diff drop as well

Not saying ita right but the CV angles look similar to the posted pics they have of the lift on RC website.

I'd call RC and ask WTF.

I can't remember for sure. Not sure if I ever heard the name of them. They were offered as the upgraded Rough Country 6in lift. I'll look tomorrow and see if I can find a name on them.
