hard to say. i didnt weigh it.
plus my bed is 8 ft long

 

Add 100lbs for the 8’ bed.

 

Yeah, planning on replacing the bed with a tube frame this spring. Wondering how much weight I can add back after I take the bed off.

 

Call Toyota 800 number and ask them bed weight.

 

ehh, I don't really do the talking to people on the phone thing.

Its sort of complicated to figure out the weight too. I could weigh my truck....but once I take the bed off it won't really be in any shape to drive into the city to get weighed until I rebuild the rear....in where I will know the final weight, but by then it will be too late.

I could take the bed somewhere to be weighed once its off....but then without my truck....I don't have a way to take it anywhere...

 

I know the tailgate is fairly heavy. Guessing 80-100lbs.

 

Well....thats 39lbs down......Now to figure out how much the rest of the bed weighs

My guess is under 300. Its just lightweight sheet metal after all.

 

If not for being so bulky, I think two people could remove the bed. I lifted one side by myself while my buddy removed my rear shock

Power is nice, but I just compromised with leather and bun warmers.
Passenger side front is apart and I'm going to pull the drivers front and swap the seat bottoms. They look nearly identical. Putting them back together looks like it will be fun.

 

Is that a thin cheap turd gen tailgate?

 

You can buy a 3 pack on Amazon for cheap. They seem to be fine. I've had no issues yet.

 

its not horrible.. i have to do warranty seat covers all the time and seat frames... just get a nice set of hog ring pliers.

im only thinking power because my seats are technically not the right ones for my truck.. i really need to find an 05 tundra set of seats. as of now i still dont have a functioning airbag..

 

Nice! Didn’t think about using epoxy to repair it myself, thinking about it now I should have just done it since there was a clean break.

 

Seconded, $13 for 3. They are a slightly different texture but they fit great and work even better. I'm pretty picky about fit and finish too.

 

It's a little thing, but I dislike waiting on power seats to get there. Manual seats are just faster to adjust IME.

 

Oh trust me. I use to despise power seats. but after my Audi and Avalon power seats seem to be the only way for me to get 100% comfortable.


But I’m also a man of small stature.

 

Plus the power seats have 4 adjustments. I think the regular seat has only 2 maybe 3.

 

Is yours power?

 

Had family over for dinner so I didn't get much done. This one still needs some pulling on the bottom and then finishing stuff like headrest cutouts. First impressions are that they smell great, they fit tight, and besides being slow going it isn't too bad. Bun warmers were easy at this stage.

 

who did you buy the seat covers from? local place? all my local places wont sell unless i have them do it.

 

I was in contact with a vendor from a forum while trying to convince my wife that I needed leather and the topic of the 14+ tundras having really inexpensive katzkin kits on eBay came up. My wife found a seller that was willing to get a kit for my truck for less than I was quoted before. Long story short the ebay seller she found was sealeddeals.com
I paid for these last Sunday and they showed up today. That's some serious turn around for a custom product like this. I don't know how katzkin is doing it.

 

hmm. i'll have to keep them in mind.. i wonder if they'll send me extra material do do my door panels too. im really thinking black with A cement like grey piping and perforated leather in the center.

actually pretty sure the whole interior will be a mix of mostly black with cement highlights and a dab of red in spots maybe. kinda trying to make it all a theme so it hopefully looks clean and factoryish

 

Not sure, but I was planning on replacing my fabric inserts with leather or vinyl. The black/tan thing was what I was going for also. That's why I got the tan stitching, to hopefully help tie it all together. I found some different places selling vinyl and leather that would work for my small door inserts.
