Hey team, I've been doing some research on Lift Kits, and wanted to get everyones opinion. I have a 09 Double Cab RWD and want to throw it up about 3 in. I'd rather spend the money and do a full suspension lift as opposed to the cheaper body lift. What all will I need to purchase other than the actual kit, everything should come with it right? Also, I figured I'd do the bilstein since they seem to be the favorite around here. Any advice? (I plan on buying the kit separately then taking it to my shop to have them throw it on)

Just get the Toytec Boss kit if you want to do coils too. Has everything you need. Rear shackles seem to be the consensus. At 3 inches you should probably do SPC Upper Control Arms as well. Cost should be right around $1900 shipped from the Toytec website.

A lot will depend what you're using it for. My truck is prob 95% road and 5% off. I have the BOSS kit with SPC uppers and have zero complaints. Check out my build thread.

I've done a ton of research to see if there would be a way to save some coin, but from what I read it is the best value for something that improves the ride, lifts the truck, and gives additional ability to wheel off-road.

Have the Toytec kit sitting at my house waiting to be put in. Just do it. It's the best way to go. Take it from me....do it right the first time or you'll regret it.

Okay cool, I'll check that build and the toytech lift out. Ya I mean it's so much cheaper just to do the blocks but I wanna make sure to keep my value high and my ride good. Purely aesthetic, I'm down in Florida and occasionally go to the mountains up in Georgia but that's it. So the boss kit improves the ride then?

I actually had to approach this decision from a different angle.

After a ton of mulling back and forth, I decided to look at it more from "what could go wrong if I go with blocks and spacers". These Trucks are known for their reliability....I'm sure that's part of why you bought it. Why put something into the truck that could jeopardize the reliability?

Right. That's a good point. Why f with the realiability by putting a few hockey pucks in there. Guess I'm going to have to just man up and drop the money on it. The ride is smooth though?

I've ridden in Sean's pickup, and it rides pretty damn smooth for a lifted pickup on 35" MT's. A lot better than I would've expected.

It's going to be a lot smoother than any spacer kit you put in there that's going to compress the stock struts

Getting my BOSS kit out on at the end of this month or early Feb....from what I've experienced and heard, it's definitely an improvement over my current ride (spacers) and non TRD pro stock ride!!

Unfortunately, I can't swing the UCA's right now so staying at 2.75 - 3" up front and getting UCA's when I get new (bigger) tires later on. More than 3" on 275/70's would just look stupid.

You know it baby!! This year's gonna be a nice year for me mod wise!! Planning BOSS kit, sway bar, auxiliary backup lights cut into rear bumper, and possibly fuel mavericks at the end of the year! WIN!!

I'm still on stock UCA's. Caster was a little off on alignment but I think it'll be fine. Since I only drive it about 5000 miles a year, it's going to be awhile before I even notice if my tires are wearing prematurely. I'm just going to wait until some UCA's fall into my lap.

Fully adjustable coilovers is the way to go for the lift. Rear blocks or shackles for the lift in the rear.
I have the Toytec Boss lift kit and love it. Much improvement over the 5100s.

My alignment came out perfectly fine after my 3" spacers were put on, so I'm guessing it'll be alright. Combing Craigslist hoping to get lucky!!

Had the stock UCAs on for about a year with the 3/1 Ultimate kit with no issues. When i switched to the Boss i got the TC UCAs.

My dealer wasn't able to get my alignment dialed in to exactly how I wanted with the stock UCAs and a 2.5" level...figured there was no way in hell they could with a 3-3.5" lift lol. Ended up going with SPCs
