my 2008 sequoia and my 2018 Tacoma do this when shifting into S mode... just a Toyota thing i guess, but i typically just go straight to S mode right when i first get in. not sure if this is something Mat can change with the tune

I've suggested a feature/option/functionality for the transmission to go to whatever current gear it's in when going from Drive to S-Mode, but that's as far as it went.

Well, you can certainly count my vote for this if it's at all possible.

On the surface it would seem rudimentary, but I've been wrong...a lot of times actually.

Didn’t have time to go through all the recent pages. Is this tune now available to purchase?

Yes, but keep in mind OVTune is a small semi-custom tune shop and they are working on and finishing for release other tunes besides ours. A bit of patience involved but it will reward you with the most comprehensive and best remote tune available for our trucks.

I don't mean this in any sort of poopy or disrespectful way, but a bit of patience means settle in for the long haul. Probably months before the entire tune is completed. It's not necessarily a bad thing and completely worth it. This is the best and only real way to go.

Yep. A lot of people don’t understand this takes time and there is still active development going on. Some of the Tacoma guys are real bad about it. I first tuned my Tacoma 11/2017 and it has gotten better with each update.

it sounds like the tundra is less complex though and mat has learned a lot from deciphering the taco madness so once that’s wrapped up, I’m guessing the tundra will progress quite rapidly.

Got my tune and tried to flash but get the dongle not installed error. The dongle is seen by the logger and shows installed in Device Manager.

I uninstalled & reinstalled & rebooted the computer.

    What do I do now?

I was able to do the flash, using a different USB cable.

I'll do the logs on my way to work tomorrow & submit them.

It wouldn't work with the cable that came with it? I thought that was supposed to be some kind of special cable...

No sir. Not for the flash. I am in IT & have a stupid high end networking tool that came with a very high quality cable that worked.

The weird thing is that it is fine for the logger.

Drove to work with the 91 tune (highest octane gas we get). Felt good, sent logs which the cable the dongle came with was fine with.

Looks like I get to partake in the fuel pump recall. Guess we'll see what they replace and if theres a new ECU calibration.

PITA, I suppose that after a few you get into a rhythm though, like doing the Cam Tower Leak repair.

    @OVTune
You've asked me to send you my logs, but you reply that you haven't been getting the attachments on your end. I've tried again via offered alternate email address, (even sent log via DM attachment last week) but don't know if that has worked. I didn't want to bugger the Zendesk queue (#4706), so I thought I'd query here as I haven't heard if either of those attempts were successful. Thank you!
