    OK all done. I didn't put U at the top. Decided against it once I saw how the breather worked. Very simple but it has a cap the end that I feel if I turn it upside down it may hold water and possibly suck it back inside. But I may install a filter later on. I routed it along the inside of the frame rail. I did it the hard way and did not drop the spare.

    Yeah I read all of them.
    I totally get the concept. And it all does make sense.

    I'm just saying that when I inspected the breather valve itself it is really only a one-way valve. It would just allow air out but not back in. I'm just saying try it blow through the thing and then try to blow in reverse. Or suck however you like LOL. Because when I unscrewed it from my diff it took a big gulp of air. I had driven the truck early this morning and came back and parked it. A couple hours later I started the mod after the truck and rear end had cooled down. Went and unscrewed the valve and it sucked air. I'm a plumber by trade and I do get how things expanding contract with heat and cold. I'm just wondering if it really would suck water back in because the valve only works one direction. But it still is a good peace of mind having it up in the tail light now!

    I don't think the ARB comes with the union so you will still need to get it. This only replaces the breather and the hose. But you can re-use the breather that you take off the diff and just buy hosing. Be sure to buy atleast 10 ft.

    Oh sorry Zach, didn't see this. I think 10 ft should be enough. They were at the end of the roll so they just gave me the rest which was like 11 feet. And I had a little leftover. You just need a little slack, for when the suspension flexes. I gave it more slack than I needed just to be safe.

    Yeah I'd hate to break a hose once my lift goes on. I may need to order the fitting online, since my dealer can't find the right breather even with the part number I have em.

    Sorry if I missed it. Does anyone know the thread size of the diff breather? I have a few of these kicking around my shop and maysel use em if I got em. I assume it’s a 5/16” npt?

    I forgot what the thread was called. But it wasn’t npt. You will end up cross threading/stripping the housing. You can pull out your breather to compare thread to double check.

    I have one I haven't yet installed. If you tell me what to measure (show me a pic of you measuring one you have, so I know I'm measuring the right way), I'm happy to do.

    FYI: when you enter that part number into an internet search it comes up for a sale from about a million sources. Definitely not something you need to get from a dealer. This is a perfect example of a free 2-day deliver Amazon Prime purchase. If you decide to just get another.
