Just need some inputs from real world use. Currently have billy 5100 @ top setting up front and stock shock in the rear. 95 % street and 5% off road use. With my current set-up, I like the ride on the street and works ok off road, but would like to step up the speed a little off road. Not looking to lift any higher than the 2-1/4 " up front that I have with the 5100, just want a better off road shock front and rear. I don't want it any firmer, and my front end is probably close to stock bumper weight. Just looking for ride quality on and off road with the 3 shocks mentioned in the heading. Thanks in advance............

If ride quality is what you are after, Coilover hands down....and has the capability for tuning.

King would be the only one I'd take out of the 3 since they are rebuildable. Only thing I don't like is they will come with 600lb spring which is great for highway and stuff but off-road you want something higher. I love my fox it's awesome off-road they come with the 700lb spring

    What this guy said^^^

Don't limit yourself to one brand. Fox, ADS, King, Swayaway are out there......

I'd say King, of the ones you mentioned. If you get 'em from Keith, he can dial 'em in for you and you can get the 700lb spring. I've got ADS 'cause the King bling is a bit much for me and I think it might be a better c/o. Fox, as mentioned above, would be great too. All 3 of these can be rebuilt/revalved. Oh, let's not forget Icon which is digressive like Bilstein as opposed to progressive like the Fox, King, ADS.

Thanks for all the input guys. Now I'm REALLY confused ! Ha Ha. Fox is right here in San Diego, but thought I read somewhere that Fox C/Os on our truck above 2" lift causes to much preload ? Maybe I should just stop in and visit Kieth @ DD since he is just 30min up the freeway. Appreciate any other reviews of anyone else on here too. Oh, and Down South Motorsports is only about 5 min from my house, maybe pay a visit there too.

That sounds like a good plan. I wish I were that close to those resources.

I have some of coachbuilder shims on my foxs so hardly any preload at all. I think kieth is a king guy so I'm sure he will lean that way.

The Kings are definitely the top of the line setup. And they do allow you to fine tune your ride height as needed.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the SR5 OEM coilover spring is rated at ? 550 ? 600 ? 650 ? I know most aftermarket C/Os are 600-700. Just like to use this as a starting point before I make the final decision. Thanks guys.

Agreed. I'm in the same boat as you. I want the fancy coilovers, but it appears that the 6112s will be more cost beneficial to me.
