I had a tailgate lock clamp, but I removed it. It became completely unnecessary when I did the tailgate lock mod. :)

Replaced the windshield. Before I did that, I found out that I really have no glass coverage from Progressive. My comprehensive deductible is $499. A new aftermarket windshield was $575, OEM $1139. No problem, I'll get the OEM; after I pay my $499, Progressive will pay the rest! Right?

    NOT.SO.FAST

Progressive, (and all other companies I checked with), doesn't have to pay for OEM, at least here in Texas. Which meant they would pay $76 for the aftermarket, and ding me for a claim. Conversely, if I wanted OEM, I was in for $1139. I closed the claim with $0 paid by Progressive, and put an aftermarket piece in, made by the same supplier that makes the Tundra glass.

Lesson for all: Check what your glass coverage really covers. If you live in Minnesota, you should be golden, that state has the best glass coverage laws in the country. I'm from MN, and I'll pay for a windshield now and then, just to avoid those winters/salt. If you have the type of coverage I have, it's possible to buy your comprehensive deductible down to $0, (Progressive would have paid $575 in my case), and it's also possible to buy OEM only coverage, (Progressive would have paid $1139 in my case). You'll just have to decide if the extra premiums are worth it. And Toyota put TSS in all their vehicles in 2018 forward, meaning you will need to get that safety equipment recalibrated with the new glass. Progressive will pick this charge up only for 2019-20 trucks, because they are "newer". I guess my old, run down, 2018 doesn't make the cut....

Install is super easy. The instruction will tell you the fuse location to install it into just make sure you use the diagram on the fuse box cover to find the right one, but make sure you get a micro 10 amp fuse for your lights to work because the original fuse you take out wont fit in the dual fuse adapter that they provide.[IMG]

That bites. Good info to have, so thanks for sharing. Sounds like I will need to confirm some policy info with my insurance company.

A lot. See my channel for all installs/mods!
Wasn’t a huge fan of aftermarket taillights but the stocks had to go...I have to say these are growing on me, def my favorites of all options on the market...added a little touch to the hood as well just to make it mine...matte black “Platinum” to keep it subtle

Well, I did with the Tacoma. So the chances of that happening with the Tundra are pretty good. :D

Yeah I figured it was the salt too, I never noticed anything before they started laying the salt down. I've thought about taking it off and getting it coated (just had my snowmobile exhaust cerakoted and it turned out really good) but I don't know if it's worth it.
