Well it is time to start my build tread.... little back history
I first started with a 2002 Tundra SR5 access cab, 4.7L V8 2wd that I bought used in 2006 after a hail storm totaled my car. Truck had 68K miles, now has over 253K and my wife drives it now.
    20160531_183923.jpg

In late July of 2016, my wife's 06 Maxima was on the verge of catastrophic mechanical failure (it barely made it to the dealership), so we traded it in for a loss and bought a brand new 2016 Tundra SR5 TSS edition, 2wd with the 4.6L engine. I drove the truck for 5 or so weeks, trying to like the truck, but I could not take the small 4.6L anymore. It just did not have the power to weight ratio that I was use to from the 02 Tundra
    20160727_180212.jpg 20160819_065732.jpg

So on September 10th I traded the 2016 in for a 2014 Sunset Bronze 1794 edition, 4wd, 5.7L with 62K miles. I originally tried to buy the 1794 in July, but the dealership had just received it and would not budge on price, well 6 weeks later they accepted my first offer. I now owned the truck I wanted in the color I wanted - time for upgrades.

    The day I bought it

I started to collect parts, Got the wheels on sale from Amazon and then the Icons during Black Friday
    20161123_195014.jpg 20161123_194618.jpg

In preparation for new larger tires, I did the body mount chop up front with plates from Relentless. I am not a professional welder by any means, but the grinder cleaned it up some

    20161119_142725.jpg

Then I tackled the rear suspension.
Hopefully someone learns from my mistake, I did components in the wrong order. I started with the rear shocks, then did the rear sway bar the following weekend, then the shackles the next. In hindsight the shackle should be installed first so you do not have to undo all the previous work, then the shock, then the sway bar.

Christmas weekend I tackled the front suspension, plus wheels and tires
After the alignment, I had to heat gun the front part of the inner fender well where the tire was rubbing

So far so good, I may actually lower them a little to reduce the pre-load. From the alignment, I gained an additional half inch between the center of the hub and fender.

I like this color. Goes good with the 1794 interior.

How are the icons ride on paved roads? Is it smoother than the stock black shocks?

So far I am liking the Icons. Between them and the rear sway bar, the truck rides and handles much better.

Installed a pair of inexpensive LED backup lights wired into the reverse lights. Will be installing a pair of flush mounted Rigid Lights in the near future.
    20170312_115926.jpg

Finally installed a TRD Pro skid plate that I picked up a few weeks ago. Had to add some spacers to compensate for the differential drop and the bull bar. Also had to get longer bolts because of the bull bar bracket thickness. Glad my dad has a small hardware store of stuff in his garage.

Decided to tackle the install of a pair of Rigid flush mounted backup lights. I tried to take photos along the way and I tried two methods for cutting the holes out. The first hole I mostly used a jig saw with a fine tooth blade for metal, this method took longer than the second, which I used a Dremel cut off wheel.

I first started by cleaning the bumper so the tape could stick, then masked out the general area where I wanted to install the lights. I measured the clearance on the inside of the bumper to find a location where the light would not hit the brackets on the inside
    20170318_163745.jpg

After locating a flat spot that had clearance on the inside, I laid out the template and duplicated the location to the other side.
    20170318_163751.jpg
For the first hole I started by drilling a hole in each of the corners, then stepping up to larger drill bit to easily fit a jig saw blade. The jig saw did make quick work, but sometimes the blade caught the metal just right and kicked the blade out. I broke 2 blades. About two thirds of the way with the first hole I checked the inside of the bumper to make sure where the parking sensor wires were. I went as far as felt comfortable with the jig saw before switching to the dremel. This is where problems happened, my Dremel box had several of the fiber cut off wheels, but they were the old design with a tiny screw thru the hole in the disc. After all 8 disc broke, I was about 98% complete with the hole. I finished it up with a metal grinding stone on the dremel.
    20170320_132528.jpg
Between setup, laying out the locations, double checking everything, and cutting the first hole I had spent about 4-5 hours. The next morning I went and bought the Dremel EZ attach blades kit and an extra set of metal cut off wheels. The EZ attach secures the wheels a lot better than the tiny screw and does not allow the disc to slip.

For the second hole, I used the plastic cutting disc to cut thru the painted bumper first before I cut the metal. The plastic cut easy and I used a fine sanding wheel to round the corners to match the hole outline. Next I cut the metal with the new EZ discs, I had most of the metal cut out in 10 minutes, taking my time to slowly and carefully cut the metal without hitting the painted bumper cap.

Cleaned up the edges and rounded the corners with the grinding stone on the dremel, test fitting the light multiple times until the light fit flush and sat in the hole how I wanted. I used the light to located the screw holes for both lights, this insured I drilled the locations properly.

Mounting the lights was a little tricky with the brackets that is on the inside of the bumper. I found using a 1/4 socket set with a swivel adapter and extension allowed access to 3 of the 4 screws on the light. For the 4th screw on used a box wrench and put a small magnet on the wrench to keep the nut from slipping out of the wrench. Note the nuts are not magnetic.
    20170319_150855.jpg
    20170319_152549.jpg

I planned on attaching the lights straight to the backup light wiring in the tail light, so I cut the wiring harness that came with the lights, only keeping the weatherproof connection and 6 feet of wire to attach to the tail light. I put all the wiring into wire loom to protect the wires and make it look cleaner.
    20170319_154610.jpg

I popped off the taillight and tapped into the two wires connected to the reverse light. The white wire with a black stripe is the ground wire. After attaching the wires I tested the lights before securing the the wire loom with zip ties and closing the tail light up. Here is a photo of the lights on I the middle of the afternoon.

Good write up on the Rigid install. I had been wondering about wiring directly, the bumper bracket and the best way to cut the cap and bumper. Got em all answered.

I did use 4 metal cutting wheels on one hole, so buy some spares.
Another trick I did to install the nuts was to put two nuts into a socket, this kept the nut from recessing to far into a standard socket. The bolts for the lights are not that long.

Wiring the lights in is the difficult part, I wanted a clean installation and did not want multiple harnesses all over the place. I choose to go with a Bussmann RTMR and 80A circuit breaker. I picked it up a few months ago from a Tacoma World member that pre-wired it up with a harness with switch backs. The best location I could come up with that was easy access and would not block other things was the space right behind the passenger side headlight. I measured out the available space and drew up a couple options for a bracket, then made cardboard versions so I could test fit and make adjustments before cutting the metal.

Ran the switch wires thru the firewall and made up the wire ends for the weatherproof connector.

Installed a pair of KC cyclone lights under the hood

Installed switches in the center console, have room for future additions

Switch placement since the platinums and 1794's have no other free space for them. Have room for some growth and already have plans for blanks

Picked up a Rago fabrication flag pole holder and one of their non-rail mounts, but mounted to my rail so the flag pole would clear my Retrax cover.

Had washed the truck and mounted a flag for a San Antonio Tundra Crew fundraiser that was last month for the fallen San Antonio police officer

Picked up a white platinum grille locally for a great price. Had the surround and hood bulge color matched to match the truck. Have plans to replace the grille insert with a custom one.

Plan is to eventually replace the chrome and light grey bumper and bull bar with a Magnum RT or similar steel plate bumper.

Haven't updated in a while, but have not done much to the truck.

Picked up a pair of Baja Design sport wide cornering lights and the mounting kit with bezels. These things are bright, almost overpowering the stock low beams.

I received the FRAC harness from TundraTex At the end of September. I picked up the same camera I saw a few users with the Pro grille using (I don't have a pro grille but plan on replacing mine with a custom one at the end of the year). I learned the camera has to mount with the bolt shaft vertical, was hoping for horizontal. New camera will be in my future. No photos of the install, was under a time crunch. I followed @BlueBottle install write-up but rotated the switches 90 degrees, that I allowed me to keep the insulated terminal connectors that comes on the harrness.

Picked up a sub box with Image Dynamic 10's and a JL HD750/1 amp from 1upper. Will be a while till I can install them as the JBL system requires the factor amp under the seat to remain if you keep the stock head unit, so a processor will be required. Leaning towards the JL Fix.

Nice! Yeah these squadrons are bright af... can’t imagine the pros. Do you run yours in the streets or off-road only?

Do you have picture of just the lower valance light on? Link to that light? I want I light down there too. Either there or behind my pro grill.

I moved them to the 2002 tundra. I wanted a cleaner install and was not fond of the lights hanging down from the bumper
