I will definitely check them out if I cannot get it under control after this alignment. I am sitting Toe WAY out visible to the eye so I know the trucks handling odd because of it. I am using Bear Alignment in Corona right now they seem to be doing a decent job from what Ive seen.

Did you see if any of your rims are bent? I was in Mojave and hit a ditch hard that flattened the tire, and someone behind me on the freeway saw my tires stick waay out and I got aligned at this place.

I have taken the truck to two different americas tires and they said the wheel for sure are not bent. On the balance they said everything balanced up great. Spoke to David at CB cause he runs spindle lifted trucks like me and he stated that alot of times when a tie rod end has to flip from its usual position it can go out or cause steering issues. So he recommended a upgrade to his steering kit and once I installed it the OEM tie rod ends we loose enough to be moved by hand so that was some what of a good sign they could be the causer of the steering wheel movement. But its hard to gauge the full effect because my toe is visibly negative by alot.

Didn’t drive too much but I can say it’s a noticeable difference that my steering is much more firm. Way less bump steer and feels a ton smoother in the steering wheel. I will confirm more as the week goes on. Before CB my steering felt super loose and sluggish and steering wheel moved over every bump doesn’t seem like that now.

Great to here man. Keep me posted. I know along with bump steer my truck likes to find grooves in the road. Sucks at 70mph. Lol. Hope you have a great Christmas

So drove the truck a lot more and here’s my take from the change to CB. Steering is much tighter and more reactive.... love that. Before my steering felt loose and i would get shakes like imbalanced wheels here and there which is completely gone now. Hitting bumps in the road I still get some feedback in the steering wheel not as much but still a little bit. The feedback is also different where before it was like a loose steering wheel movement now it’s a tighter not so out of control movement. I think that’s because the alignment shop I went to said they could not achieve CBs number and instead took the caster way more positive. If I understand alignments at all positive caster makes easier turning and has been associated with steering wheel feedback or bump steer with some people. I would bet if I had my shop move the caster more negative and closer to CBs numbers it would get even better. For now I’m happy with it and will just plan to get new alignment sometime down the line.

So went to Bear Frame and Wheel after @Pinay recommendation and they said my caster looked fine at .2º DS and 2.5ºPS and then said my camber was already set at 0º on both sides and he set the toe to 0 on both sides. He claimed alignments dont get better then that. Truck is still sensitive to bumps in the road so I got Maxtrac involved and they claimed they want do to process of elimination. Right now the tie rods, alignment, tire balance are all ruled out. They want to rule out that my wheel are not the issue by putting on a set of stock rims and tires to see if it makes any difference. If no change then they said its pretty much a sign that the suspension being stock is too soft for the set up and causing too much action in the front end and ultimately translating it to the steering wheel.

Another thing maxtrac mentioned is seeing if the alignment shop can get the caster even higher....... has anyone managed to get both sides into the 3 range?

Yes he was a little stumped as well. He was the one who recommended me getting in touch with Maxtrac. I’m going to give him a call tomorrow to tell him what maxtrac told me

Nothing yet going to try and swing by the alignment shop sometime this week to see if they can get the 3 degrees minimum each side. How about you?

Should be dropping mine off tomorrow night so they can put them on Monday. But I sent the aliment guy a text this am and told him about ur issues and what number you had. He told me we should be fine cause I am on a 6 inch. He also told me that they done a 14 Tundra with a Maxtrac lift around thanksgiving and come to find out one of his tires was out of round. They true the tire and rebalance it still was doing they went with a power balance. They put powder in the tire to get a better ride. 0-35 has some wheel moves after 35 does good. They have put powder in my other tires in my lifted 250-350 and worked good. Good luck!
