So I have the 4.6l, bought a k&n intake for it but when I received it it says it's for the 5.7l. I checked multiple times and it said it would fit, my question is has anyone put the 5.7l intake on the 4.6l? Dont want to have to go through the hassle of returnjng it and ordering another if I don't have to. Thanks

Throw it on and see if it fits.

That's what I think I'll do, just didn't want to assemble it all if it doesn't work, you know?

Right. At least you'd have practice taking it on and off if you had to remove it!

Maybe someone will chime in for sure though if it's interchangeable.

Should be able to see if the tube lines up and is the same size without putting it all together and mounting it in the truck.

The install guides are the same, gonna test fit the intake tube, if that fits I don't see why it would be an issue.

One of our members here runs the parts site. Probably the best prices you can get on OEM parts.

    Looks great!

Question, is this still considered CAI? I am thinking with the shroud it would be for the most part, still pulling air for the fender opening. Does the shroud come in contact with the hood?

Well, I had one of those intakes on a couple of vehicles. The contact with the hood is not that great. They sell it as a CAI. But after many years of using them on my previous vehicles. I came to the conclusion that, ultimately, they end up sucking in hot air from the engine compartment instead of the fender. They definitely make more noise which is cool, but when watching the IAT On a DashBoss that I had, the IAT’s were hotter than stock thr intake when I compared them. This was on a Chevy, but same principle applies. I’ve grown to like a closed box that leads to the fender. The open air box sealed against the hood wasn’t as effective as I thought it would be. On some of my older vehicles the airbox was quite small so the K & N seemed like an upgrade. At the track the K&N seemed to do well as long as I let the car cool off between passes. Once the engine compartment is heat soaked, it wasn’t as good as stock. Make sense?

Not to shit all over what the OP is doing. It may work out great for him. But I started to feel like it was more of a hot air intake LOL on my last car. If I ever do anything with this trucks intake system, it will be a closed box and only pull from the fender.

It's not a completely flush seal, but I can feel a difference in the acceleration
