I had guys in front of me in Mojave that had lights but if your dust is so huge that you can’t stay close, for fear of obstacles, no light will help you and you just need to pull back for distance.

Uhh, yeah, it can be! Especially at the back of the pack! All the dust is right in front of you and could be totally blinded...So if you pull back, the lights will keep help not only see but know you haven't lost those in front and can try to keep up.

I haven't finished mine but am already working on 2 more. I'm also considering switching from using BD S2s to BD S1s.
@Rica25, I installed switched S2 reverse lights beneath the rear bumper and am planning on S2 sport dust lights. You want those dust lights to be bright but not scorch the eyeballs of the guy behind. Also, the higher and more aft you can get the lights, the better IMO. Some of the less expensive whips are a joke for chase lights.........everyone told me so.:anonymous: There are some good ones but nothing really beats the BD S2s except maybe the S1s

Yeah, it seems the whips are best for night runs.
