It’s not the same stiffness thru the entire bump. I’m not sure what direction it goes, but it handles small bumps and large bumps very well. Look up his videos for the Tacoma’s and 4runners.

i believe its to help with trans temps because of how the transmission is designed to coast

I read this before I went to work and drove to work with OD off. I definitely feel like I coast less down hills with it off which helps with braking. I kinda like drive with it off, I always just left it on.

My front bumps are custom cut down low squishymeter foam on the coilovers and whatever tight bypass valving fox did. Seems pretty good.

We had our sled dogs crossing the sound moment today when the frozen mud started to thaw and we were miles away from solid ground. We pulled a nice pace of 40-50mph on very rutted and windy desert trails to get back to high ground.
From this day to the ending of the world. But we in it shall be rememberèd. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. Hahaha.
Edit- If you've seen the new Disney movie Togo you might understand what I'm talking about. Very funny part of the movie.

Alright; finished the install this afternoon (decided to take a few days off from working on the truck). The problem was a bad choice in what I tapped into for ACC power for the mirror. I decided to use a fuse tap and used the CIG fuse.

I still need to make some adjustments with the grid lines and such but otherwise its a wrap.

Considered that but I dont like the cluttered look. I'll sticker bomb spots that aren't visible 100% of the time, like the inner lid on tool boxes but not my fridge. I do have a big pile of stickers though.

installed Dome, map, door, foot well, and glove box leds. I took the metal protectors out of the map lights and I think it over did it so I have them off when the doors opens. Now I have 15 t5 and t10 leds sitting around :(

General rule of thumb the same as tacos when lifted, run a little more caster up front? Or just go factory spec. I’m going to align the truck tonight so I can hopefully get them close with the new arms at home.

I think I'm running about 2.5* caster. Maybe stock was 1.5-2.5? Seems like 2-2.5 is a reasonable number, but I don't think as much as 3.5 would be bad handling. My prerunner is running about 5.5* and that's a little excessive.

I’m probably going to see how 2.5 is. My Tacoma I run 2.8. Seemed to work with no rubbing.

I didn't care for the handling of my truck when I was running under 2*. Without a sway bar up front, around 1.5-1.75* caster, and stock rack bushings didn't produce the kind of feedback I want on the highway. It wasn't terrible but it did wandered more than I liked.

This is probably a good time to ask. I've had 285's on my truck for around 6 months now. Initially I only rubbed the frame at full lock and the mudflaps. In the last month or 2 I've started rubbing the plastic. Safe to say my alignment numbers must have shifted somehow?

I’m more worried about clearance to the fender. Positive caster never bothered me as long as it wasn’t stupid excessive

Big goal is make camber and toe in spec with even caster

Finally buttoned her up. I have to remove some preload from the coilovers. It bounces way too much. Hopefully that helps, if not I'll be installing some Bilsteins. Fun project, learned alot from this one.

New Akkon headlight assembly with Hikari LEDs really brightened up the front end too.

Black steel bumper and grille swap is next, along with the side mirrors. Just gotta figure out if Im gonna paint or vinyl wrap the pieces. Swapping out the SCS F5s as well for some gunmetal versions. The dark bronze just ain't doing it for me. Those will be going on my father in laws LandCruiser.

That was my understanding. I didn't have any problems getn replacement shafts and seals when they were rebuilt by DSM.

I know this is talked about on several threads, but I’m ordering supplies to do diff/t-case fluid change... it sounds like most people use 75w90 in the rear but my owners manual calls for 75w140

I’d rather buy all the same fluid in bulk.. any advice?
