Nice. I'll have to see if it'll fit my Tundra. Unless there is an OEM one.... I'll check with Roman on that.

    Do people still syphon gas?

I'd be more worried about the personal information on all the paperwork in your glove box or in the console.

The 2019 Tundra SR5 does not have a locking gas cap either, or even a door latch that requires popping from inside the vehicle. I'll check our 2020 Rav4 later, but don't think that one does either.

With a 38 gallon tank that is kept full 80% of the time they could siphon enough to fill 3 cans at 5 gallons each and I'd still be ok. I'm honestly more worried about somebody pouring a bottle of coke in the tank than it being siphoned. If you piss somebody off and they know your truck, an eco-warrior wants to teach you a lesson for buying an evil world destroying V8, Crazy ex wanting to punish you, etc. are the scenarios that I would want the locking cap for.

People don't syphon gas any more, there are mechanisms in the fill neck that have pretty much made that too much work. What folks do now is just take a hole saw to the tank and drain the gas into 5 gallon buckets. What they can't take with them just drains out onto the ground.

I did the locking gas door after a few people posted they were getting CEL's........but that was only a few that said that.

I have other worries. Like those aftermarket locking caps not sealing completely and throwing evap leak codes. Or dudes sliding under the truck and cutting the cats out.

But guys do try to reinvent the wheel like the Fumoto oil drain plugs. Whatever floats your boat.

Yeah. People suck. I'd rather have fuel stolen, or even a hole cut in the tank than have something run through the motor that'll cause problems.

Thought about doing this to my tundra and the wifeys t4r, but read that CEL goes on.

Here in Hawaii, heard stories that instead of syphoning, they’ll just go under the car and make a hole! So I’ll be looking into a gas tank skid in the near future.

You can still get to the tank even with a skid. I would like to see a gas thief drill a hole with a cordless drill. The locking cap works as most people don't know how to pick the cheap locks.

...And mine has been installed since 2014. People just need to find one that seals.

I work with A holes...they can't stand someone who saves their cash to buy a nice vehicle.../end rant.
I'm looking for the locking door or cap as an option.

I have been using a Stant locking cap on my truck for the last six months no problems at all.

Yep, the bastards slide under the car drill a hole with a cordless drill for the gas then cut the cats off with a cordless sawzall. Sons of bitches. I have dealt with the cat theft a few times and the gas tank holes in a business nearby.

Anyone that’s looking to steal gas (on the norm) knows the filler neck is almost impossible to siphon fuel. Hole saw time.

While they are under there, the catalytic converter is a nice bonus as well.

Depending on what state you live in, this can get stupid expensive.
