So I purchased a 2015 crewmax CPO with 27k. It came with 1 year 12k bumper to bumper and a 7/100k powertrain from original purchase date so I lost the 27k from the 100k. My question however is about the Toyota care platinum warranty that I purchased. Not sure if it is like the CPO where I loose 27k. I’m under the assumption that I paid for 7/100k platinum warranty . So I should be covered until 127k. Any experience with this on here?

It’s up to 7/100k. I got the same warranty when I bought mine new. It doesn’t start at the end of the 3/36k.

Some say extended warranties are a waste of money. I like not having to worry though. I’ll probably drive the crap out of this truck and trade it in around 100k.

I hear you on the “it doesn’t start after the 36k.” you purchased your truck new 0 miles so you have 100k. My question is when you buy a certified pre owned. It already had 27k on it, when I purchased the 7/100k platinum Toyota care warranty, I paid the full amount. I’m just not sure if I actually have the 100k or I have to subtract the 27k original owner put on the truck like the 7/100k limited power train that certified Preowned come with. I guess I’m trying to figure out if I paid the full amount for a 6 year/73k mile warranty. If you subtract the time and miles the original first owner used.

When I read “It came with 1 year 12k bumper to bumper and a 7/100k powertrain from original purchase date” I was thinking the original purchaser bought the 7/100k when new and it was transferred to you. I see what you mean about losing 27k. I’m not sure. Since Toyota is a business I’d say they will say up to 7/100k, not in addition to the 27k but that would make sense.

But since it says original purchase date I’d say it’s only up to 7 years from when the person bought it new and 100k miles.

I don't buy warranties for anything.

But if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't take someone else's word on here for a legal matter between you and the seller of the warranty.

I'd take the question up with the warranty seller, perhaps read thru the fine print first. But my suspicion is like others above, its a "100,000" mile warranty, up to that point, not beyond.

Hope you never have to use the warranty and Luck otherwise, : ^ ))))

This ....ask the dealer or supplier of the warranty.

But it's going to up "up to 100k"

I would think that the cost would reflect the 27k already on the truck and that you are not effectively getting the complete warranty, but that is just speculation. As mentioned, I would seek clarification with the supplier of the warranty. Please report back and let us know!

I would cancel it, get your money back and stick with the CPO warranty.

I’ve already used it twice. Condenser and wheel bearings.

That should’ve been with the 3/36k or CPO warranty, not the 7/100k unless you are already over the others. Not sure how many miles are on your truck now or when you bought the truck. But the 7/100k price is negotiable.

If you can refund it there is someone on here who sells it for less. There’s a thread about it.

Condenser is not covered under powertrain coverage. Toyota dealer cost was 2000.00 local shop was 700.0. they gave me a rental too while they fixed it.
