    Hello everyone,

Nee member here, we just picked up a Tundra this past weekend. It's an 06' Tundra sr5 V6 4.0 AT access cab. Last owner shorted out the harness, we called two local Toyota parts department up, gave Vin and even then they said they need the harness number. There's just one slight problem... the tag's worn out. Part starts out with 82111-0Cxxx, I am not sure which I need since there are six different ones 82111 - 0C280,1, 290,1, 300,1

Maybe I am talking out my butt but if bad cable is going to be removed and then replaced, are you in position of being without this vehicle for a bit ?
The reason I'm thinking that way is if I had to replace that cable anyway, I would take the cable out and remove harness cover, perform continuity checks end to end and find where harness was shorted. Perhaps you could even walked into the dealer and he could match it up easier.Doubt that cable harness is cheap but your labor is and learn in process.

The engine wire harness is a different parts nunber and starts out with 82121. That was not the right part.

This is an extra truck and a winter project. Will redo the harness if I can't fi d one for a decent price, you hit it right on Bubba, it's not cheap and at over 2k from the dealership! That won't be an option for me.

Similar to Omg's link above, which I'll be adding to my list of links also....will be busy digging into this one, Christmas all over again searching for parts :)

With what you are showing in your profile....SR5, Access and V6 which should equal a 1GRFE ?
I believe the below link gets you close. You simply need to select Manual or Automatic of the first 2 choices in below link, since the rest don't apply and then Electrical Group

Man, this is great! Thanks everyone! I believe this is the part number for mine that I will need 82111-0C281 for 2WD, AT 1GRFE V6 engine. Next, I think it's the fuse junction box... Check this out!

That is what I am working with! 8 blown fuse, four from the fuse box and 4 from the relay in the cabin. Was able to get ODO to display, radio and blower fan to work, high beam, 3rd tail light and cabin light. No turn signal, bake light or low beam and can't crank the starter over yet. This is getting fun for me!

Yeah, previous owner indeed "shorted out the harness" :eek2:
How much did they give you to take it off their hands :spending:

Awesome stuff if you can get it sorted out. Thought it looked like a real mess when you first posted pics, but since you are having fun then I am too!

Was 2k for her, after seeing the rat's nest I asked if $1400 was acceptable, we settled on $1500 + $355 towing, $20 for a kick panel replacement (lighter grey than mine), $90 for the wrong harness shipped from ebay for the engine 82121...

The original seller is in his mid 60's fly rc planes and he hot wired (with out a fuse) a 12v to charge up his rc airplane stuff and this is the end result. This really does give you respect of how much heat these wires take and how it can wreck havoc.

My question is in the earlier posted image, the wiring loom that connects to the fuse relay junction (driver side kick panel) that took most of the damage the wiring harness goes to the floorboard, it looks like it's the loom for seating sensor, seat-belt restraint and taillights? The only real bad damage to the harness was the melted hood latch cable from the main fuse box. But for $350 I might just replace the entire 82111-0C281 harness. I believe that's the one I need.

See pic attached. The wiring loom that goes to the floor pannel is the one with the most damage with three or four melted wire casing. Definitely not going to get tailights with that.

Oh the smell's gone, it's been sitting for over a year, a few dozen ppl looked at it, but It was destined to be my project. Everyone wanted a V8 4WD, there was a guy that looked at it the morning that we went out, I don't blame them but for our application, this is perfect for us. Will be fun to get it going sideways eventually.

That it? I’ll see if I can find the part number when I get home. Believe it came out of a 04. It’s the same box as my 05. Just missing the relay in the back for the power windows (I stole it)
