I was using some new connectors that I’m not loving; so maybe not a great connection somewhere in the line.
I’ll cover that first tomorrow morning; good ol’ fashion twist and shrink...

Received filter, fuel line, and clamps for the diff breather mod. Union will be in tomorrow.

Also, I received some rubber for the topper to try to get it as leak-proof as possible.

Did another quick bleed today on the brakes, but included the Proportioning Valve this time. It spit and sputtered a little indicating air presence. None of the wheels had air. Making a note to bleed this along with the wheels on the future go around.

Bled two other vehicles today to maximize the ab work out, as well.

Tomorrow is major tune up day on another vehicle. Already noted the monkeys that just did some warranty work didn’t put the Schrader Valves Caps back on the A/C lines. Those are important in keeping the freon from escaping (as a secondary back up). Another reason to do your own work!

Clean with a degreasing soap or additive in some hot water and let dry. This removes dirt and salts, etc.

Pull the belts out fully and start drenching with PB Silicone as they retract back into their home inside the floor box. Spray both sides in a soak. The magic happens after the belt drys. SNAP!

Double back on it in a week with a dousing if you dare be bruised by the snapola!

Playing around with 3M carbon fiber wrap. I have no idea how people do this in a way that looks nice. My attempts look like crap.

I had planned to do the instrument panel but now I'm pretty sure it would look horrible.

It was bugging me so I went back out and traced it down to a bad connection to the acc power hookup.
I’ll get it all cleaned up in the morning and dial in the grid lines.

Thank you for the tip on the power piece; looks like it’s going to be a pretty nice setup.

I was thinking about applying the 3M to the center strip of my door trim(the part that is normally chrome). Right now it's masking tape covered in bed liner spray. I'd just have to remove it so that the 3M has a better surface to stick to.

Opinions? One other member did it and said it help up well.

I think not much will stick to that bed liner spray surface other than spray paint. Never used that carbon film so not sure how well it adheres, but regular blue tape has a hard time holding to the spray liner due to the texture and surface sheen.

Agreed. That's why I was saying I would have to peel the tape off that center part before I could apply the 3M.

LBJ’s came in, picked up 4 of the 8 bolts, remaining 4 and the castle nuts should be in any day. Cotter pins came with the recall kit for anyone ordering the kit.

Could always go black like this truck. I wasn't too crazy about the black flare idea until I saw this one. It was just internet photo search destiny!

I really like that setup you have going on there though. Looks like your trying to move boulders across an island or something.

Yeah the black flares doesn’t look bad at all, I’ll be doing the bumper black and bedliner black, probably sliders black.
Haha I’m not a fabricator by any means, but I’m super ocd about things being even or lining up or looking proper. Both sides measured out the same from the bottom of a piece of strut laid across the bed. I will just try to keep everything even and as square to eachother as I can

Reflecting back on Operation Zzzztttt!!! So stoked on these puddles lights ($20) plus the newer OEM running boards ($125) which have been getting lots of use at Dereks Center.

My 99 taco came with a plastic carbon fiber kit installed by PO with pieces that covered the door switches, gauges, radio/climate control, and a/c vents. It was.prettt neat. Might be able to find one for our trucks.

    https://www.carid.com/2002-toyota-tundra-dash-kits/remin-dash-kit-basic-kit-17375469.html

This kit has a real carbon fiber option

And your write up will be happening when?:D:yes:

I’ll be posting a WTB ad for 2019 turd gen’rs selling their ‘awful head units’ with ‘lack of technology’. :cookiemonster:

2019 tundra unit, while they’ll work, will not fit by any means. Toyota 86 is the only American sold car that still uses this style radio (you will need to get a new bezel for your truck out of a 04 tundra to make it fit)

write up will come once I have the backup camera stuff. I’m just preoccupied on finishing the suspension now

the 02 tundra had the standard old double din radio. 03 or 04 they went to the toyota 200mm radio, which is what the 86 radio is. its still a double din height, but wider. brackets should be the same too. So the bezel you have will not fit the larger radio. but the newer bezel should be a simple bolt in swap and allow the bigger radio

if you have this radio, you have the old style standard double din. The newer ones look like this
