    Hi,

First oil change on my own on Tundra.

I replaced with aluminum housing and swapped the oil inlet towers to the tall one.

I noticed TWO o-rings on the factory plastic filter housing! One where diagram should go and another on the outer lip... I installed with just one as indicated in filter diagram, not on outer lip! Is that correct?

Without the outer most o-ring of course the housing simply butts up on the block and has no torque value. it just came to a dead stop...but tight and smooth. No leaks! Is this how it should be?

IF I decide to triple check and remove how much oil can I expect to drain out of the filter holder? Seems like only a pint or so but I had already drained the pan. IF I take it out I want to make sure I have enough oil to fill 'er up.

Friggin' Toyota techs putting 2 o-rings on! At least one was in the right place and no leaks....

    Thanks!

    Greg

There are two orings used for a filter change.

Small one between the metal cap (3/8 socket drive) and housing and large one on the OD of the housing at the base of the threads

    Right!

I meant 2 large ones were installed previously on the plastic housing. So with the small one there were 3 altogether.

Only 2 now. One small and one big one just below the threads. NOT on the outer most position!

    Thanks!
