    Hello,
I am currently looking at Tundras and leaning towards the crewmax with the 5.5' bed. We have 2 10' kayaks and was wondering if anybody carries these with either a tailgate extender that goes into the hitch, or even just over the tailgate? Seems like with a few straps they would be pretty secure. I may eventually get a rack system, but those 2 options seem like the easiest to start with. Thanks !

I have a 10' kayak, I just strap it in with the tailgate down and a red flag on the back of the kayak, no issues so far.

They will be just fine in the bed with the tailgate down. I used to have a 12 foot that I carried like that with no problem. Now I have a 11.5 that I carry like that.
One of those extenders that go in the hitch would be more safe but I wouldn’t say they’re necessary.

You're welcome! Looks like as long as you have good straps to keep the kayak in the bed you're good to go!
