Nice! I think those yufana and the nilights and a couple other brands look exactly the same. They all have killer reviews for how inexpensive they are. I just sealed my housings with polyurethane sealant because I didn't complete trust the butyl. I used the 3m poly to seal the old holes in the back of the housing too.

I’ve used Ni-Light light bars in the past with good results. I bought some butyl tape as well, maybe try something a little heavier?

I’ve seen this stuff for sale at packaging/box stores and recall it being inexpensive as you state. I like how instantaneous the heat reflects when using it as ground matting. My theory (backed by study) on this stuff is reflecting the sun rays (that penetrate through sheet metal) off the top of the cab in summer and radiant heat back in for winter. There needs to be a 1/2” buffer between the cab metal and this plastic silver bubble shtuff for proper action.

The latter. Dead space between the reflective surface and metal cab (or wood/whatevs on a home) is best.

From pics I’ve seen our hood liners don’t afford much dead space overall.

I just brought down a couple boxes of this exact stuff I bought for my LS, but never used. I was planning on gutting the interior and doing the floor, but it sounds like the best bang for my buck is the doors then back of the cab first?

I have one annoying rattle from the passenger airbag cap/door on top of the dash that drives me nuts, but I don’t know if there’s a way to get under the dash or that cap/door? Assuming no, without blasting my face at least.

Check out the write ups and info at https://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/

The cld tiles do not need 100% but the ccf/mlv needs to cover as much as possible for true noise reduction not just the dampening from the butyl cld tiles.

I have the same rattle but it sounds likes it's coming from where the windshield and dash come together upon closer examination.

I’ve studied that link before (IIRC) and is why I recommend the ‘strategic’ part. The mass loaded vinyl I do not have personal experience with outside of seeing it used in building structures. Its heavy stuff/expensive and not something I’m interested in using in my vehicle for those reasons and the cost/benefit isn’t justified (for me). I use natural fiber matting from food delivery. It looks and acts like the OEM stuff and its free and it promotes wurrled peas.

A lot of us struggle with this rattle. And it does seem to come from the dash & windshield...

I’d have tracked that rattle down the day I discovered it in 2002 or whenever it raised its noise. Last thing I can stand outside of loose items rolling around in the truck is a rattle or squeak.

    Someone getter’ dun!

Had that same rattle with my Tacoma. It got worse in cold weather and went away in the summer

    Blind lady was ex-post facto.

Turd gen’rs section is good for a laugh. Many of them are one dimensional thinkers with trucks they don’t need. See MPG Complaint and Never Use Truck Bed Threads for proof. One reason why trucks are so expensive.

Yeah too many non truck people buying trucks and complaining that they're too truck like and not enough car like. That's way we see weak leaf springs and all these unnecessary overly expensive gimmicky electronics

I put more butyl in the channel on the housing, but the housing was a little stretched out from prying everything apart when hot. I pulled it all together with some adjustable head plyers and it seemed to be seated, but there were gaps on the outside of the channel so I went over that with the 3m to make sure it sealed.

i put it in the doors of my avalon to make up for the now lack of a vapor barrier. if i was running it anywhere else i would use regular foam. just want the water resistance in the door panel

Still waiting on my h1 bulbs. If they don't come tomorrow I'll be swapping my housings back over so I can drive to work in the dark Monday morning. The cutoff looks about as level as I wanted it. I actually angled the driver's side just a little anyway so it doesn't looked like anything moved too much. Not sure if the weird reflections are anything or not. Too many variables without having the correct bulbs right now.

The little artefacts are more than likely all wrong bulb related, looks killer other than that.

if I’m not happy with the 100w halogens and upgraded harness a retrofit will be coming for my truck

Washed today. What kind of waxes and polished do y’all use? I’m interested in building up a supply of decent chemicals/polishes to make it look a little more shiny :oldglory:

[IMG] did the passenger door's sound deadening on the inner skin. Yes i went overkill and it closes like a damn vault door. but i have a crate of this shit from Ford, its enough to do 2 of these trucks completely.

i'll do the outer skins and put a insulating layer when i do the door panels. outer skins will get the tile treatment.

(did thr driver side outer skin already, dont remember if i posted it here or not

It's funny how the door sound changes when you add some deadener in there. My doors sound more like my wife's MB after the deadener went on. That alone was almost worth it.

I'm really thinking about doing 3157 switchbacks on my turn signals. I need a new bulb so all 4 match anyway...

Anybody have any suggestions on clear film to protect the headlights from uv damage? I'm seeing lots of options and not any clear winners.
