Hi I am a new member from Maine and I own a 2017 Tundra. MY ISSUES HAVE BEEN RODENT INVASIONSfirst mice then a rat have been costing me money. I pre bought normal maintenance and a five year warranty but that doesn’t cover the damages.

Yup lots and lots of mothballs. Shop around, i find the best assortment at wallymart, put them in a pouch so they stay put tied to something yet away from the high heat.

Luck and enjoy those Toyotas. : ^ ))))

+1 on that black cat. Ours kills everything. He brings up rats, chipmunks, birds, and a whole freaking squirrel. He has no mercy, the squirrel was decapitated and the backstrap gone, nothing but feathers of the bird, and he usually eats a bit of the chipmunks too. While that sounds harsh, try replacing the washer hose on your Tundra twice and once on Ranger. I was spending $75 a month on sticky traps, poison, etc. I was finding the poison chunks toted up under the engine cover but no dead rat. Chunked the poison after 3 months and the cat has been a killing machine ever since.

Like Aero Kroil? I know the scent lingers, didn’t think it would repel rodents (I kinda like the smell myself). o_O

+1 on cats, historically for us the female feline is a more focused huntress then the males.

I think he mean peppermint oil...maybe?

I've heard peppermint oil works. Never heard of penetrating oil being used.

I never had any luck with the peppermint oil, i think mine actually enjoy it. :eek2: The best luck i have had so far is a mixture of mothballs and dryer sheets. I'm in the woods also, so i pop the hood everyday to look for signs of their evil intentions. :spy: One other thing i did was to try to seal off all the ways they can get into their favorite place to nest, inside your heating /duct system. I used some metal mesh to seal off some big gaps below the windshield vent they can squeeze through, so far, so good.

PB Blast’r Original Scented Penetrating Oil. Smells just enough and leaves an unwelcoming slippery residue for a few months. Easy to spray with a quick crawl under the truck and also down through engine bay. Just keep it off the exhaust. I spray my frame down with it for corrosion protection. Win/win!

Search for a post by me on here linking to some friends that ride motorcycles (that forum) and rodent problems. They use wasp spray. I have just noticed signs of rats under my hood (rat turds on the plastic engine cover) and sprayed around the wheel wells. on the engine, and plastic cover. It has been 4 weeks now and no signs of any rodents.
