SE Toyota center console wireless charger.

Finally got mine from Sparks, I believe I am missing a piece of the wiring harness. This is the only wiring I received. Can anyone here verify whether or not this kit is supposed to come with an additional harness?

 

Yes, you are missing an extension and adapter.
My unit was missing installation instruction so I referred to RobMotive.

Mine was delivered today as promised... I just finished installing it. Took me about 30 minutes. Really straightforward install... a breeze. Merry Christmas to me!

 

I work slow, took me around 45 minutes. Used the feature tonight and it sure was nice.

I have already changed my start up screen. I was wondering if maybe there was another screen we could load that would stay up all the time [unless we hit the home button, etc.].

That would be cool ... got lots of ideas for that

There’s a standby screen you can configure, at least on the tacoma. I haven’t checked but i assume its also on the tundra. You hit the screen off button and it displays image until you press another button.

 

Ordered mine on 12/6 and is set for delivery on 12/29. Not surprising since I'm about as far from South Carolina as you can get up in here in the PNW

 

Agreed. I ordered the same day and am expecting to receive money the same day; in WA.

 

Picked mine up from my local dealer on Monday, got it installed today, took my time, about an hour. This thing works and looks great. I love it.

I think mine took a total of 8-10 days to get to me in WA. Granted that was two weeks ago during the flurry of shipping, but it's a long hitch hike from SC.

Mine looks complete thankfully. I'm hoping to get it installed soon

 

I can totally see that with the busy season of shipping. I know it it a pretty quick & easy install but my dealer has my truck right now and has offered to install mine for free. I'm just waiting for it to arrive.

 

Anyone know if there is a way to default the charger to off when starting the car via remote start?

 

Today my phone was charging and playing tunes via Bluetooth. All was good and look down and the lights changed from blue to flashing red for a moment and then back to blue. My phone was at 98% charged. Does anyone know what the red lights represent? I understand what blue or green mean, but unclear of red.

 

Foreign object detected I believe. Like if something metallic falls on it while on.

 

Odd, my phone was the only item on the charger.

@jrd347 Any idea? If red lights flashing and no foreign object is present, seems like this unit may be defective.

 

What type of case do you have? Some have magnets and small amount of metal in them.

 

No case. Apple iPhone 8. Wife has an iPhone XR, will test hers tomorrow.

 

The red light comes on rarely for me. I just take it off when I notice it. Maybe cuz I have an iPhone X with a steel outer case? Who knows. Well see if it continues.

side of my element case has a little aluminum too so maybe that

 

I might be mistaken but the red light could also mean overheating? I remember reading something about that in the manual.

 

Was wanting to know if anybody uses a note 10+ in this charger and how it fits?

 

I’ve had the red light come on one time when the phone wasn’t fully seated (laying flat in bottom) in the tray. Only had it happen once

From what the manual says anyone of these issues can be the cause of that.

 

Thank you for the response and info. See my responses below? I will continue to monitor the products performance and hopefully it won’t continue to malfunction.

1. No foreign objects because I don’t even use a carrying case on my iPhone.

2. I was into my drive for 3-4 minutes when it lit red, is that enough time to overheat.

3. Apple iPhone 8 does support Qi wireless technology. I’ve charged this exact phone in my home on a Qi charger this way since it was new.

I don't mean to sound redundant, just hoping to narrow dow causes.
I see you don't have a case but do you have one of those metal disks for the magnetic mounts or PopSocket grips stuck to the back of your phone?
I know little about iPhones but a quick search does state that the iPhone 8 is only rated for wireless charging of 7 watts while these chargers supply 10 watts of charging.

 

Thanks for the note. No accessories on my phone at all, phone only. My wife has an iPhone XR, will try that phone on a long drive today.
