That's nuts. Winch bed trucks like this get used in Alberta muskeg, which sounds like a similar amount of crap. Bet it would get him out.

yeah, there was another update. Group went out and checked the vehicle but were unable to recover.

pretty remote place, closest gas station $4/gal

have also heard people say that mud/clay will deem the truck ruined

Why would the truck be ruined? Unless it's underwater I can't see how sitting in mud is going to ruin it.

Going to need a tracked vehicle probably. Backhoe would probably have no trouble.

There’s talk about trying to go out Thursday morning and if they can’t get it out, there’s a tracked vehicle coming up Friday I think. The bad part about this playa is it’s been wet since 2016-17 winter. It’s worse than clay. Nevada’s got some really remote awesome places out but you can get into trouble quick. I heard a few miles away from this one there’s another rig stuck they couldn’t get out a couple years ago. Word is it’s abandoned out there still.

As far as I know at least for Christmas. There’s going to be another attempt Thursday and if it doesn’t work, Friday again. BLM is known for being jerks and it made the local news and they’ve been made aware of it. Hopefully they don’t add insult to injury and fine him.

He could make up a tripod to lift it, then set it on plywood till it freezes up. Brothers plow truck after attempting to plow the race track a little to early.

Ive seen videos of this recovery method and it always seems to work. U would think they would have tried it already, right?

By looking at the first photo it seems he did not try it. He could be related to a 612er so a helicopter may be on the way.
