So I did a little upgrade on my Gen 1 tundra. It took about 30 minutes to do. Popped out the old fog light housing and bolted these in. Still need to get the angles adjusted right but so far I love it. They are much brighter than they show in the picture. I’ll post the links below to the items I used.

Are they too bright? I put some similar Amazon lights on my subaru last night and even aimed all the way down there is so much glare I don't think they will be legal.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
"too bright" because they have NO reflector! Per Amazon description, "...
Nilight 15016F-B Led 2PCS 4.5" 27w 3000LM Round Flood Light Pod Off Road..." So yes they are illegal to use on road, sorry OP - you really are going to BLIND folks....

Why not just put an LED bulb into the old reflectors so they are legal and BRIGHTER??

They do not blind people if you know how to angle them. I had led bulbs in the old reflectors and I couldn’t even tell they were on. And yes they are legal to use as fog lights (where I live) as long as they are mounted low enough for it.

They are bright but not so bright it blinds people. I stood in front of my truck last night at all different angels to see if it was blinding and they were not. (Unless you stare directly into them obviously)

    Looks cool.
Totally useless as a fog light.
It’s a flood light. You’re going to be the a-hole blinding people.
Oh, Totally useless as a fog light.
I give them one day of rain before they are full of moisture and leds start failing.

No. They are not legal to use as a fog light. Location has nothing to do with it. It’s an SAE DOT certification that makes them legal. They clearly say for off road use. No matter the location you mount them, they are not on road legal lights.

Dot legality is functionally irrelevant, and literally irrelevant in some places as many states do not even require that. What matters is how the light actually behaves and if it gets you pulled over.
