My Tundra is making a weird sound.

I start the truck and about 10 to 15 seconds after driving forward, (leaving neighborhood) it makes a weird grind sound from front end. It's real similar to the sound it makes engaging to 4wd just not as loud.

    Any ideas?

It does it once after the trucks started and doesn't seem to do it again until truck is turned off and then re started.

Thank you guys I'm way down in south Texas and was getting concerned.

Is this something new on the 17's?
    My buddy's 16 doesn't do this.

From what Ive heard and read, some are louder than others. Mine is very audible but Ive just gotten used to it. Nothing is wrong with your truck though. It's just the ABS pressurizing itself.

It's no coincidence that they program the ABS to do the self check and the doors to lock themselves at the same time. Most people will never hear it because most people will never get into their settings and turn off the auto door lock function.

Good to know and makes sense. I have been in quite a few new tundras and test drove 3 or 4 and never heard this.
    I sure feel better, Thanks.

Hey rangers you have a TRD pro right?? U say your truck is making like a popping sound here and there? How many miles do you have on it? Well i have a trd pro my self 2016 mine did it a few weeks after i bought it. Its the aluminum skid plate i un bolted it placed some naylon and rubber washers and it went away. Which if you take the skid plate off it wont make any noises after i put some rubber and naylon washers it stopped making the popping noise from under.

Yes I have a Pro,I got 2500 miles on it now, its making the anti lock brake noise at 15 mph. I haven't noticed any noise from the skip plate. But if I do ill add the nylon washers, thanks for the tip.

I don't mind it now, but before I posted here and was told what it was, I was freaking out. I was almost 700 miles from home and thought my 4x4 system was making weird sounds.
