Please Help...Leveled with alignment issues!

Readylift 3/2 Level Kit
JBAOffroad UCA’s (just installed)

Ever since the level kit was installed my alignments have been off and I’ve experienced outside edge wear of the front tires. It was suggested that I go with JBAOffroad UCA’s that allow more camber/caster adjustment to correct the issue. Had those installed and took it for an alignment today and was told this was the best he could do and noted on my receipt “unable to fully adjust pass side. Bushings stuck in control arm”. What do I need to do here???

 

I have a leveling kit also,
Have gone through multiple alignments at different shops.
With a leveling kit your alignment will never be right. Don’t listen to anyone that says otherwise.
My advice, get it removed ASAP and go with a different setup like 5100s or another suspension lift.

 

You have way to much toe. Total toe should be no more than .15.
Your camber is also jacked up. Not only should it be closer to 0, camber should be equal on each side.

 

They said they couldn’t adjust the passenger side because “bushings stuck in the control arm” LCA......???? I’m not exactly sure what that even means.

 

It means you need to find a new alignment shop.
Find a tech that knows what they are doing and YES you can align a lifted truck .

 

Go to a different shop. My local Toyota cost me a set of tires. I went back for 3 or 4 alignments because of outside wear. Bought a new set and had the alignment done at a reputable off road shop. Zero issues since

 

If the cam bolt is seized you'll need to fix that first. Toyota has a long history of that happening. Tacos are horrible for that. Sometimes you can heat them up and get them to move, sometimes you need to cut them out.

 

You paid a shop to do a alignment on your truck. Any reputable shop will fix the problem (sure they will charge you ) but a good mechanic will not just say they can’t fix it.
Find a real shop with a real mechanic!!!

 

In a sense I agree. Problem is, more often than not the cam bolt is dealer only item, and there is a HUGE chance of the LCA getting butchered to get the stuck one out. They SUCK!

 

Sounds like the adjusting eccentric bolt is seized in the bushing. You can try to soak the two lower control arm bolts on the right side with PB Blaster or Kroll oil for a few days then see if they loosen up. if that don't work you will have to replace the bushing.

 

I’m on my 2nd 3rd gen on my 14 I did the Rough Country 3/2 lift level. With there’s they have two spacers to add after the 2” block. On my 14 I went to the max and did both spacers and could never get the alignment right and wore the outside of the tires. On my 19 went with the same kit left one spacer out and got it perfectly inline all green on my alignment sheet. It also still has a small rake to the front. Leaving that one spacer out makes an inch difference from front to back.

 

All green does not mean it’s right. All green means is that it’s in factory spec. You can no longer follow factory specs on these trucks once you change the suspension

 

Well it must be close to factory specs because I see 0 wear on the outside of my tires. On my other truck it was noticeable if the street was wet you could see where the sidewall was wet from touching the street. Streets are wet today just went to get something to eat and sidewalls are high and dry. Just saying it’s better aligned on my new truck then my old truck just by leaving a 1/4” spacer out.

 

Maybe someone can tell you what shop to go or they have used. What state are you in

I went to the same Firestone down here in NOLA with both trucks. The same guy still works there and said he remembered he couldn’t get the other one aligned.

 

Im in Bridgeville area I have heard good thins about Lou Bevier's Alignment Shop in Canonsburg although I never used them. I used to be a Master Toyota tech now my son works at South Hills Toyota and he does my alignments. That being said I don't care who you go to it will never come into alignment if you have a seized adjusting eccentric bolt you will just be wasting money for someone to tell you the same thing.

 

So then you’re pretty close!!! I’m actually in the South Hills! So at this point, would you guys say it’s just better to replace the LCA’s and be done with it???

 

If you're this far into it, yes, and cam bolts.

 

You don’t have to replace the whole cont arm I believe you can just get the bushing you will also need a bolt it’s not that hard of a job a sawzall will be your friend.

 

How long has the kit been installed? Are the front spacers installed correctly? There is a marking that points out. I have seen them installed backwards. I have the same kit in mine.....for now.

 

Kit has been on for almost 6 years. Not sure about the spacers how can I tell? I had a friend to the install for me.

 

That’s false. An alignment can be done. If it’s lifted too much whether it’s with the spacer or 5100s. Usually around 3 inches the upper control arm needs to be addressed and upgraded, to one that will make up for the extra lift.

Same thing, you are on the borderline of needing upper control arms.

 

I just had the JBAOFFROAD HD UCA’s installed 3 days before the alignment. The alignment tech said he wasn’t sure what I was trying to get at with the new UCA’s because it wouldn’t affect the alignment but they look cool. He was a dick. At any rate the JBAOFFROAD UCA’S are good for up to 4” of lift.

 

What an idiot. Definitely not just for looks. They correct your angles with the lift. Never let that alignment “tech” work on your truck again with a statement like that LOL.

To be honest he kind of deserves a pop in the mouth. I really hate it when people I’m paying are being snarky with me, but it lets me know how stupid they really are. Don’t treat me like I’m stupid because I’m having you do something I’m not qualified to do. Doesn’t mean I don’t know shit.

Not that I'm standing up for the guy but ignorance shouldn't deserve violence. Some people just don't know about lifted trucks and what's available aftermarket to fix those issues. He is working in a tire shop not a fab or 4x4 shop.
