Just got my Diode Dynamics SS3 SAE fog lights. Selective yellow Pro model. Installed these last night.

First off, kudos to DD for a bracket and adapter plug that fits like a fuck*n broken in glove. Not to mention the housings themselves feel very well built.

I was anticipating some amount of work to get the bracket in. But nope. Snap old light out. Snap new SS3 light in. So freakin simple. And the light output is outstanding. Keep in mind it’s 45* outside and misting. So I need to play with aiming a little bit this is what 15 mins of start to finish work netted me.

I just got mine installed yesterday. It was 20 degrees and started to snow ;) I’m a cheap bustard so I went for the sport version, not the pro, so my light output is slightly less than OP but still amazing and incredible improvement over the stock SR5 16W halogen bulbs. I concur, easy instal, very high quality. Few photos attached. One is just fog lights and daylight led lights on in late afternoon, nearly dark, second is the same light configuration but dark morning. The third one was at night. And fourth one shows the pattern on garage door.

yes. That’s the point. They are SAE J583 compliant which is what you want for fogs. No issues a week later with flashing and I’m driving in the dark everyday at some point

Diode dynamics say they’re street legal. I have not installed mine yet but maybe others who have installed can speak to flashing.

Here’s an update on mine. Installing the fogs were super easy and fit like a glove. The plastic for the wheel wells were another story. Very happy with the setup.

lol. Yes. I work for a heavy civil construction company. Our company logo has a rhino in it. Our former ceo and founder passed away so we put the company mascot (statue) in his parking spot so nobody could ever take his place. Literally and figuratively

Do these install from behind without removing the bumper bezel piece? If so I'm going to pull the trigger. Not wanting to remove my front bumper shellz.

Yep. Just remove the bottom portion of the fender liner and it is a direct swap with your oem fog light. Bezel does not even need to be touched.

3-1 level kit with add a leaf. 295/70/18r cooper max. Spider head light tail light and third brake light, tint, badges off, ladder racks, trd pro grill, color matched hood bulge, grab handle, coach builder +2, dv8 front bumper with winch, fender flares, bed cover....
They did but had to stop bc they weren’t really street legal apparently and they’re waiting to re release them I think they were 450$ a set... I need two sets. So if I go with these I save $300. Thinking about just getting these

I would. The revision is horrible in my opinion. They just made a new lense with a cover to direct the light and aesthetically it looks tacky.

I wonder if for us, gen 2, we can use Baja fog lights adapters and the Diode Dynamics fog lights. they seem to have the same footprint as BD fog lights.

possibly. But I don’t think DD sells the bracket independently of the kit.

Thanks for the interest everyone! Just to answer a few questions:

We've got a kit on the way for the 2nd gen. Coming in the next month or two.

You can purchase the brackets separately.

Happy to answer any additional questions!

Glad you’re here, Paul. Any truth to the rumor of interchangeable clear lenses being released? And if so, would the swap effect anything regarding the warranty?

Yes, we will make them available once we catch up with demand. The lens is the most complex piece to manufacture and is our current bottleneck for capacity.

The lamps come with a 3 year replacement warranty and an 8 year limited warranty. If you swap the lens yourself, the immediate replacement option may not be offered, but you're still totally covered under the 8 year warranty. You may just need to send it in for repair.
