I thought that the steel wheels' TPMS sensors had a different stem angle than the sensors that fit to alloy wheels, 45* for steel and 20* for alloys. Or is this not entirely consistent?

I don't know the degree angles but you are correct.
Tundra steelie sensors don't fit alloys.
Is there an alloy wheel out there that the steel wheel sensors will fit? Maybe. But I don't know of any specifically.

I would be prepared to buy a set of sensors.

No worries, I've never had steelies on my truck and was going on what I'd read here. I've also disabled my sensors so I don't have to deal with them when changing them (I have three sets of wheels/tires).

They moved over perfectly from the stock 18" steel wheels to the Method Con 6 18" wheels!

Glad they worked out for you. It was my understanding to get them to work on aftermarket wheels the installer would need to flip the sensors upside down or something to that extent.

    Perhaps that's what they did.

It can get pretty dicey doing that. It can cause the sensor to stick out too far and the tire can knock it out when the lower bead slips over.
