They make a cup holder thing too for the mic and head. The yaesu suction mount seems to be working so far as @abomb60 has his.

I got one of their cupholder mounts a few years ago and wasn't impressed with it, too much vibration.

You only need to find these to run wiring from the cabin to the rear of the truck. For power it's a lot easier to go through the firewall as depicted above.

That's what I did for both the antenna and power feeds. The SMA connector was a PITA to get through, eventuall got it where as the power feed was easy as heck. Very clean install, need to get an FT3DR HT now...

I agree with Warren, for power go through the firewall.
It is hard to get a good picture of the plug, but it is almost aligned with the back of the driver's seat. From the inside you will see where the pieces of carpet overlap and that is where the cable will come out if you push it through from underneath.

I'm in the same boat. I need to get the bluetooth unit asap, not sure how that works or if that'll allow mic functions. I think the Yaesu headset does. Also getting the APRS voice synthesizer when I place this order.

    Waiting to pull that trigger...

Thanks for sharing this .. just ordered 2 (couldn't buy just one and pay almost as much in shipping as the product)! I have issues with my mic mount since it's just a normal mic mount that came with the radio mounted with some 3m tape on the bottom instead of screws. Problem is in the summer the heat makes the adhesive a bit gooey and the leverage and weight of the mic makes it droop and eventually fall off. Hopefully this design will prevent that.

It'll read you APRS message data so you don't have to try to read while driving. Edit: I lied, I just ordered those things.

Do you guys just use Repeaterbook.com or their app and program what's in your area? I didn't know where to start so I put in each one with 25 miles. Still trying to figure out the unlocked GMRS usaged (Licensed), no luck so far and can't seem to get on municipal freq channels to scan. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, I'm referencing this site:

    https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=209

In theory I should be able to listen with the correct offsets and tones as I understand.

I use repeaterbook. RTS actually has a feature to import from repeaterbook into their programming software.
You shouldn't need to set the offset and tone just to listen, just turn the dial in VFO mode to the frequency and see if that works.

Yeah, I'm using ADMS-7 and manually putting them in. My Bluetooth and voice modules should be here tomorrow, I'll post up how they work. If I no longer have to use the hand mic, I'm going to be ecstatic.

How many of you guys got your APRS beaconing and messaging setup? I was pretty blown away I could send/recieve SMS and email traffic with SMSGTE and EMAIL-2. Haven't had any luck getting on Fusion or Wires(-X) yet.
