    Hi Guys,

I left my keys at work Tuesday and when I got home I could not find my spare Tundra key. I went yesterday to my local key shop but they said their machine was saying "Do not duplicate". I don't want to get jacked at dealership with their prices.

Any suggestions? KeyMe (key kiosk) when I input my year and make said my key was supported. Tundra key.jpg

Should be good in most hardware stores. You can call locksmith as well. Usually depends on a person who makes the key. If guy refuses you can talk to his superior. Then get it programmed at dealer or locksmith

My dealership has a outside company that comes in on a certain day. Was like 100 bucks if I recall. Fob and key.

If you have the anti-theft system (immobilizer) on your SR5 that keeps the engine from starting, you'll be disappointed with your new key. A key can be cut, but the chip in the key still has to be programmed to the ECU for it to start the engine. Programming the chip can be done by the dealer, or by an owner that's familiar with use of Techstream. That's probably why your locksmith got the message, "Do not duplicate", but he should have known that and explained it to you.

Update: I just called a place where they can do it but it's $75.00

Fudge: I didn't want to spend more than $25
