What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Had 3/1 Ready Lift installed out new shoes on her.. Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

 

Easy install? Mine showed up yesterday.

 

So this was just me being dumb. When I tightened the straps around the axle housing it shifted the whole skid assembly causing the front wrap-around piece to touch the drive shaft. Loosened the front portion up, re-positioned it and tightened it back down, all good now. Just looks like it scratched the shaft, the skid took more damage. With how loud it was (I had to drive it about 60 miles like this) I'm surprised there wasn't more damage...

This is after adjusting it. The upper portion where the bolt is is where it was touching the drive shaft. Took it out for a rip to test it afterward, tow/haul in sequential shift is still so fun in this truck.

 

You forgot a part on top of your engine cover.

 

I was lazy but I did install my remote inside a color matched AJT case.

 

Did you torque the studs to 100 lbs?

 

I torqued mine to 110 lbs. Checked them after 500 miles, still torqued at 110, never loosened. Make sure you use some blue loc Tite.

 

How does that mount?

 

It uses 2 of the bumper mount bolts, where the bumper bracket mounts to the chassis.

 

Yes. Very easy. Just some bolts. I put my truck on some ramps to make it easier although they’re not necessary. Then I used a floor jack to lift the skid into place. If you can tighten a bolt, you can install this. Instructions are clear although the rear nuts were not nylon locking nuts as indicated on instructions. Instead they were normal nuts with lock washers. I’m not necessarily a fan of the spacers they use for those with a diff drop. But I’m sure they are fine.

 

Added a universal seat heater for the drivers seat.

 

Oh damn. So when you have a pretty lady in the passenger seat and you tell her, “I’m really warm over here with my heated seat.” She’s gonna jump out and climb in a RAM truck with bubba.

 

Added Carven Cat-Back exhaust today. Quite happy

 

Just got these "used" on Amazon...lol. They are brand new and I saved $45 each. They were only $107!! Has anyone installed the reservoir on the frame instead of piggyback? Pics? Bracket? Can it even be done?

Nice deal! My buddy just got them for his Tacoma and they come with frame mounts now. Not sure about tundra though. I’d call bilstein and see or use their black billet clamps. Would be cleaner!

The husband and I debated for over a year Platinum vs 1794. I would've agreed to a 1794 that looks like this! Love it!!

3/2 level kit. Stock 255/70/18 tires for now. Doesn’t look as bad as I thought with the small tires.

 

2019+ OEM Black LED.

 

Any luck finding the issue? I’m in the market for an RCI skid. Wondering if you figured it out.

 

Yep I figured it out, nothing to do with the RCI skids as far as I can tell (could have been the ton of dirt/gravel I got out from the skids vibrating, see below). Grinding sound I got after tightening the skids was because I'm dumb and the rear diff skid was rubbing on the drive shaft.
