Here's my dilemma. I love the sound of a deep rumbling V8, but dont really want to hear it when towing my camper for 5 hours.

Has anyone successfully installed electric or mechanical cut outs? It looks like I have a lot of room to install them in front of the stock muffler and route them out in front of the rear tire on the passenger side. Would it sound ok with straight pipes or would I need to add small mufflers to each cutout.

I believe that the tundra has an odd sized, non standard exhaust pipe so fitting an off the shelf cut out may not be simple.

My truck has straight pipes it sounds great and I love using the skinny pedal alot. But you have a great point it gets old when I'm pulling my camper for a long trip but then I'm there and everything is all good. Aand with needing gas and dealing with kids needing to go to the bathroom I get plenty of breaks. Lol
