Sulastic suspension

i searched and only found one thread about these weird shits. Does anyone on here have any experience with them? I'm tired of my wife bitching about how rough my TRUCK is..

 

Never even heard of 'em. God I learn something new on this forum everyday. Yesterday I learned about zerks.

 

I only have 11,200mi on my 2013, so everything is basically brand new. I just took off my BAM race exhaust because the truck was "too loud" so now I have to fix the ride because the TRUCK is too bouncy...... I'm seriously contemplating selling it. It's not worth the head ache lol!

I've weighed my options. Suspension is cheaper! Lmfao!

 

Just get some quality shocks. Move to a 2.5 diameter shock in the rear and you will see a night and day difference in ride quality. Pretty much eliminates the bed bounce.

What you are looking at is just a "band aid" fix that will eventually wear out itself.

 

Even if you get rid of the wife, you'll still lose half the truck, so that's not an option. If it's bed bounce, try throwing a couple hundred pounds in the bed, maybe some sandbags. To see if it helps, and also as a temporary solution for your wife until you decide what to do. Are you on stock non TRD suspension?

 

Truck bounces too much, what could be wrong with that? . . .

From what I've seen I wouldn't change a thing on that truck!

 

I looked into the sulastic shackles. From what I learned they don't make them for second and third gens because the leaf eye is under the frame. They only work on trucks that have the spring off to the side of the frame. I've got the Toytec shackles and bilstein 5160's. Smoothed it out quite a bit, but the bounce is still there. David at Coachbuilder claims that his shackles make a much bigger difference than toytecs because they are billet and don't flex. I'm not sure about billet for shackles though. Seems like with steel, the flex is a good thing. What would happen if you hit something, wouldn't aluminum snap when pushed beyond it's limit? Where the steel would bend and not leave you with a separated spring. David's shackles are super beefy, would have to ask him if he has tested their shear strength.

 

I've got TRD PRO and today I put in CB +3 Shackles and 2 Shims in the front and it is smoother than before. Bed is level out with the truck also.

 

My truck is already level, if I got +1 shackle and poly bushings, would it be worth the investment as far as ride quality goes?

 

Also, with the +1 is anything else required? Driveline spacer, etc. (Other than the poly bushings)

 

I got the I got the carrier bolt spacer just in case...not really sure at what point it is necessary, but for $12 I figured WTH

I stopped my Toytec shackles down to the one inch position yesterday to get the rear back to 1.5. The airbags lifted it up 1/2 inch.I noticed that they have twisted a bit. The springs aren't parallel to the frame. They make their shackles straight just like the factory. I wonder if coach builds his differntly to compensate for that. If so that might help smooth things out more by reducing the binding up.

 

I've heard speculation that the fact that the engineers decided to put the springs splayed out could be why our trucks get the bounce so bad. Maybe they should've put kidney belts in the seats!
