    Most of the newer tundras roll on 18s stock, aside from those platinum 20s. I believe when the tundras moved over to a 5 lug they moved to 18s stock. I have the TRD rims on my sequoia, I am sure you have seen these before

    I guess I should have clarified I wanted to see 18s on a first gen. I just assumed since this is the first gen forum, that would be obvious.

    I personally appreciate the input. The freedom arms aren't much different between the tacoma and first gen tundra, so that is appreciated!

    Any issues with the tacoma arms then or do you like them? Easy enough to get in spec?

    Thank you all for the feedback on our Freedom Offroad Front Upper Control Arms for the 00-06 Tundra. We have listened to your feedback and made design changes to the design to reduce the chances of spring bucket contact. See below pictures showing our old design vs new design.     I still don't have anything negative to report on mine. They are doing the job and so far have at least lasted longer than a set of Moog ball joints.

    Would this new prototype offer any additional benefits beside the added clearance?

    Have these on my third gen. No complaints. They are great. Alignment is good and no coil bucket or coil contact.

    To be fair to @FreedomOffroad , they were not the only design that hit the spring bucket. Even the very expensive Total Chaos control arms do this. I don't know if TC has done anything to correct it so props to Freedom for fixing this.

    We can’t see the entire arm due to the angel of the pictures, but you can put washers to adjust the spacing.

    The Freedom arms I have didn't have a millimeter to spare on the inside. They slid on like a glove. The inner bushing sleeve extends about 3/16" beyond each side.

    Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I thought one of the main reasons for a new UCA was increased caster. THose alignment numbers don't add much caster and it seems too little caster after UCA. Am I looking at this wrong?

    I put these on because I needed ball joints and didn't like the extreme angle I was seeing with the oem arms. These appear to fix that and gave some added caster. For the price I'm okay with that.

    These are “DJ’s alignment specs”

    Camber = + 0.25
    Caster = + 2.00
    Total Toe = +.08

    This is where stock and lifted first gens should be or darn close. Depending on the tech he may even go higher on caster if it’s available.

    Well they replied. Said they were going with another member. Congrats to that member, no hard feelings there whatsoever.

    Below was my reply to Freedom Offroad:

    "Cool. The guy who stated this entire thread... me..... doesn’t get a shot at them. Sounds like a sound plan. Just solidified my choice in purchasing the spc/eibachs I have sitting on the shelf waiting to be installed."

    I might sound a little childish there, however I was the one who brought light to their product here and was genuinely wanting to give them a fair shake. I was genuinely excited for the opportunity to possibly help with another good option for UCA's for our 1st gens since there are so few choices and the prices are very high IMO. I told them I had not installed the UCA's I have on the shelf and I would install their product instead. Apparently was not the correct answer.

    Anyway, it's all out there for transparency. If someone is shopping Freedom Offroad and finds this thread use this info as you will. The only things I have gathered from my prior research is that their product is not adjustable and from many different reviewers their customer service is horrendous. I have no personal experience with them aside from this interchange here on the forum, so again take that for what it is worth.

    I went with SPC/Eibach UCA's as stated in my reply to them in PM. I'm waiting to install them until after the holidays. I will update once I have installed those, I'm sure they'll be amazing.

    Interesting opinion. I’d be curious to know where you saw first come first serve? Not feelings of entitlement as I know I have a superior product to be installed on my truck as it’s adjustable and proven. However I was simply wanting to bring them to light.

    The title of my thread was due to the fact I wanted to buy them but so many told me not to. I continued to learn towards them so I made this thread.

    I’m not butt hurt over it in the least, I sincerely hope they are an awesome product and that the recipient gets many many miles out of them. It just seemed odd and was a disappointment. That’s it.
