My factory front rotors warped badly @ 30,000 miles, (I'm at almost 61,000 miles). I had them successfully turned @ Brakes plus for $40 (They did all the work,I just took my truck in), advanced auto / napa / o'reilly employees refused pretty much immediately.

I WAS going to go with Power stop, but after reading MANY reviews I'm not going to be going that rout.

I've been looking on Amazon, They're all over the place in prices / reviews.

    I don't tow anything. I do haul, about 500-1200lbs a day.

Brakes plus wanted about $1000 for a set of 4 "premium ceramic" rotors / pads. (I'll do them myself.)

What do you use? What should I look into? I'd prefer a low dust option.

I'm also curious what folks are using.

That said, I've always been happy with Wagner rotors and either Wagner or Raybestos ceramic pads on both an an '01 1/2 ton chevy as well as my wife's '09 Matrix/Corolla. My Tundra's brakes are still all stock.

I have been a fan of Hawk, and have raced with Hawk pads for years. Hawk can help you with the proper pad material for your application.

Does Toyota make a TRD pad for the Tundra? You may want to consider that too.

I've been happy with Brembo blank rotors and Akebono Ceramic Pads on my cars. My Tundra still has the factory OEM pads.

I've been running the power stop z36 front and rear for two to three years with zero problems I would buy them again.

BTW: Know what your priority is. Low dust? High bite? You have to know what you want the pads to do over and above the Toyota brakes for worth while advice.

    Do not buy Napa.com premiums.
I'm sure they aren't your list but they case rubbing in the rear between the dust shield/parking brake holder.
Wore a groove in my dust shields, caused noise, caused sticking/rubbing at starts and stops.

I spend hours a few nights ago fixing the rotors so that doesn't happen anymore. Way to much work for a in-correctly machined/test design.

    Good luck.
(i did put on LTS Hawks) they have a good amount of dust but improved brake feel.

That's two for ebc. I'll be looking into them.

    Thanks guys.

In looking for more bite with as little dust as possible. I know I can't have my cake and eat it. I understand that. Haha.

I used power stop before and now have a set in my garage waiting to install. Got a good deal around Black Friday. I’m at about 24k miles and mine shake really bad when they get heated up.

Yellow (probably overkill, but I’ve added enough weight with my bumpers that I decided to do so)

I did Power Stop Z36 Pads and rotors on the front. The pads were quiet and low dust but when hot they didn’t seem to stop as good as OE. I do not tow and I very seldom haul heavy loads. After 2000-3000 miles I took the pads off and i put on EBC Extra Duty pads, kept the Power Stop rotors and wow what a difference! The pads are about $180.00 but they stop so much better then OE and Z36.

When my wife got her Venza the brakes were horrible from the beginning and couldn't wait to get them off. I put Wagner Thermo quiet on with economical rotors. That was about 20k miles ago. The difference was night and day.

The one thing when I was looking at buying a Tundra was dreading Toyota brakes but from the start and after 12k they still feel pretty good. When they go I'll put economical rotors on as they are disposable and Wagner Thermo quiet pads as I always had good luck with them on my vehicles and I'm tough on brakes.

I need rotors and pads myself. I am having issues with my Powerstops. Did you get them directly from EBC?

I run Raybestos EHT pads and rotors on everything. Need those coated rotors living in the rust belt.

I just bought Raybestos EHT pads a couple of days ago, no need for rotors yet. Never ran them on the Tundra but have on past vehicles.

I put these on for 50 bucks. They work fine and I tow regularly. The only reason I chose Napa is because they are the closest to my house ! Lol

    Not enough....
Raybestos element3 EHT have been great on at least a dozen different vehicle brakes I have done. I just ordered front pads, and their coated rotors for my truck. Less than $300 for all pads and 4 rotors.

Whatever you end up getting, just make sure you break them in properly. Heat those suckers up and let them cool on a good highway drive. Most people complaining about their brakes never bedded them in properly.
