I have a question about the part circled on my photo, which by the way is not my engine.
At first, I thought this might be my PCV valve but it isn't, correct?
Anyway, there is some oily residue on the hose heading to the top of the valve cover.
There is also some oily residue on top of the plastic shroud on top of the engine right next to the hose.
Does anybody else's 5.7 have this going on? Is this normal, it's been like this for a while.
    I have 22k on her.
No issues starting, consuming more oil than normal or smoking.
    Thanks.

Considering the proximity to the 710 cap, and the fact that there’s oil residue on the engine cover, I’m thinking it’s a bit of spillage from a past service.

I’d clean it off well, and see what happens.
