fresh oil & filter today - because it wasn't looking new & easier to do it same time as the car that needed an oil change. Call it a 'rinse'.
Had the nubby wheels put on for the winter too. Still have to get those new lines Fluid Filmed, but at least I got that in now. but of course work summons.

Finally got the cig lighter light bulb converted to LED with everyones help here. Was originally going in to pull the rubber off which I did successfully. Upon reentry, my hand slipped and jangled the filament which ruined the bulb. Moved to plan B and had to mod the OEM socket as well as an on hand Partsham LED bulb itself to make it all happen. I’ll spare the details.

Took about 2 hours total and without removing the cig lighter itself.

Thanks. Its a life of training. There is always a way to get it done as long as you never give up. Best thing about working on this truck is nobody is going to die if something goes wrong. Kung Fu Hand Jujitsu Technique!

Just wondering because the way people talk about Toyotas is like they're the worse frames ever and the only ones that rust out. But do the big 3 replace frames for free? Doubt it. Again I'm ignorant to that salt and snow life.

4 fog lights and deer guard install.
Why? (1) I don’t hunt, but don’t want to get any damages from hitting a deer. (2) intimidate inpatient driver behind me honking at me when I take a full stop at a STOP sign. (3) fewer cars dare to cut in front of me.

That's also a way thicker gauge metal and likely fully boxed though right?

Took it (and a drone) out to the desert for a documentary photo session. Since I just returned from several long road trips I finally had all the gear in place to demonstrate where it all goes.

They definitely do not replace them. The weird thing with Toyota was that the sheet metal often times would look great but the frame was crap. Jeep had issues at least in the 90's, GM had frames buckling from the 80's and cracking in the 00's, 04-07ish F150s rot too.

My older bro lives in San Antonio, it's like a time warp down there. I see cars on the road that I haven't seen here in 10+ years. They all have the paint baked off but that's about it.

Toyota didn't do that out of the kindness of their Japenese hearts man. They got sued a bunch of times.

Har har. I just labeled stuff since a lot of people (like me) are curious about how other folk store their stuff, thought it might be useful.

Some corrections / additions / clarifications to your diagram:

-Grocery bags = garbage bags. I'm cheap / poor, don't feel like buying actual trash bags.

-Store-brand honey wheat bread. Not sure how many grains.

-Not sure if "crap beer" is fair or fighting words, or both. But yeah, PBR. See previous point about being cheap/poor.

-Not sure what "jam, not jelly" is getting at - judgement? - but it is accurate. What is the point of jelly when jam exists? And, for what it's worth, HyVee makes some damn fine jam. I bring some jars home whenever I visit fam in MN.

-You left out "piece of shit crap ass" cooler. Need to upgrade that thing sometime soon.

Will assume one of the previous owners had removed the lighter given the Trim Ring is missing ?

Fortunately they're not too expensive and most onlines have them in stock in case you wish to replace it. Will have to dig around for the ash tray light since I wasn't aware it had one so thanks for that.

Good eye. I’ve owned the truck since new 2002. Mr. 2003 XM Radio installer cracked the trim during install. Never realized it until last year on my first attempt to replace this lighter bulb. The trim and cig cylinder have been held in place with sticky black goo all these years which is that other substance you may see on the backside. The missing trim is ok with me due to me removing the cracked pieces along with said goo and its not bad looking.

Per the ashtray light: Mine had a green rubber on the bulb inserted into that chamber with a green lens. Last year, I removed the frame (see pic) and drilled out the green acrylic lens on a bench. Put in the LED bulb and its so bright now.

Same bulb I used to fab for the cig ring can be used in its normal form on the ash tray and glove box areas which were done last year. They are sold in 10 packs.

I like the white better coming from the green. I used blue LED bulbs for the instrument lights and in retrospect just pulling the green rubbers off the original filament bulbs was very pleasing. A nice white orangish light which complimented the instrument colors.

You should try pulling the rubbers off first. The light triples just getting rid of them.

I used LL filament bulbs on the climate dash to save money over LED. They are just as bright as non super LED. You should try just pulling the rubbers off first if your bulbs still work. The light will triple just doing that. Half of mine were fried, so I replaced them all with new Syvania LL Filaments.

My cluster is coated green. Have to sand it (led in 05-06).
I’ve tried white leds on the center stack lights. I like it, but I also like the green
